I miss my Sammy plasma 3D tv and my Sammy 3D blu-ray player and my 3D glasses.
Also my Onkyo THX-NR818. All crapped out on me within 3 years of getting them. I sold the glasses off for10 buck. But if they were made in Malaysia I still have them.:D
I never got into 3D glasses. 3D is cool, but Always gave me a headache. Another personal experience. :D

Still have my Sammy 3D Plasma. But, long time since I watched a 3D movie on it.
Me too. I think I used the glasses once or twice when I first bought the TV. The glasses are sitting in a. drawer.

I loved it! One of my movies was Thor in 3-D when he would throw his hammer looked like it was coming right at you!

The flying lanterns scene in “Tangled” looked great. Actually, one of the best 3D releases I watched.

Hope you weren’t using a Yamaha AVR at the time money. You might have actually been hit by Thor’s hammer.

Lol, I loved that Onkyo 818 was a nice AVR.
I had an 808 for a long time. It was awesome. Onkyo fixed the hdmi board once in it. That was those only problem it had. Soo much power.

Onkyo fixed both of my 818's free they shipped me two box's with all the packaging for shipping. Sold one off and lost the other to my EX. Yep I paid umm 899 each for both got the from OneCall. But if I remember they did get hot but not as to where you couldn't put you hand on top.

My 12+ year old reciever from Sony is also made in Malaysia, which easily sounds better than Denon X2300W.

I assume you have never seen this before. These were the most popular choices back in early 2000s.

I saw one model which would go upto 10,000 watts peak. Insanely loud, if you're living in an apartment.

They were not the most popular choice EVER!!!!! Unless you had no money and were bored walking through Best Buy. Total junk. 10,000 watts? Tell me you don’t actually believe that.

Lol. Yeah. It needs its own sub panel too. My daughter used to have one like that.

It only had 2000 watts but still... it could melt off your skin!!!!! Best part was it was FREE. That’s how valuable they are. Yep. Free. Goo thing too because I couldn’t hardly pay the power bill once that thing started rockin. I’ve been in bands that used less power.

This or the htib, were common among regular people. Not audiophiles. I wasn't an audiophole back then. Just liked sound to be loud.

Here's the 10k watts, i don't know how they achieve that 10k watts tho:

What's actually funny is that, centre channel is too small compared to the two giant L/Rs

The point is they didn’t achieve 10kilowatts. It’s all marketing bullshitt. The unanointed see that and freak out like “whoah!!!! Crazy power!!!”
10k watts come from stacks of pro amps. like bands and dj’s use.
I actually loathe the industry for allowing claims of wattage like that. It’s irresponsible.

But look at rms rating, 215 watts x2, can any modern AVR do that without the amp?

Maybe at 4 ohms I guess.

Right....there’s not a chance ON EARTH that thing puts out 215w rms.
And yes. Some AVR’s can get over 200 in 2ch. No fukkin way an htib will though.

They're actually called mini hi-fi system.

Htib are those reciever type models with usually sattelite speakers or towers without the cassete player.

Sony still makes htib but doesn't make hifi systems any longer. Actually, the new ones are just bluetooth. Thats it.

Yep. I’ve encountered them before. Never had a use for them but some do. Had a Yamaha htib once. Ok for a bedroom or den.
