Agreeing with the idea is fine, but the problem is in how it would be implemented. Penalizing people in the way the ACA did at first is a bad way to get people to want to do something. First, it makes them want something else and second, the thinking behind who would pay for the bulk of the cost was wrong.
uh.. it works better in almost every case than than our current system.. people in socialist countries pay less net cost for a longer life expectancy.. that's all the evidence i need..

Well, both parties are taking heat from all sides because too often "Centrist" means "Business as Usual" and that can lead to laziness when, as an elected official, you aren't facing the same problems as many others. Oh, and yes, nicer areas have higher rents. But, take LA or even SF. Some folks live an hour out of the city and drive in for that good paying job and save on rent. At the end of the day, they save nothing, what with the cost of fuel and owning a car in CA. Never mind the time lost commuting. If the help can't afford to live in the city or afford to commute to it, they are kinda' f#%ked. I know of some bitches in Beverly Hills that won't so much as drive their housekeeper to the corner to catch the f#%kin' bus. Unless you have lived in CA for any length of time, you have not seen how the very wealthy have priced out working people in very specific areas. Oh, and the ACA sucks, period. Helped some, hurt many others.

Less cost for health insurance as a separate cost, but their income is taxed far more than here. I'm not saying that a huge number of people couldn't afford the higher taxes, especially since the US has more millionaires and billionaires than any other country I know of.

California has been known as a place for people who are selfish for a long, long time.

I think the idea of term limits needs more traction. Look at the worst areas of CA and who represents them to see this.

People abroad kinda' say it about our whole country. When Las Vegas is your nation's number one tourist attraction, you are livin' on Pleasure Island. There is a price to pay for livin' and actin' like a bunch of jack asses and we all know what happened to Lampwick at the end of the night.

I’ve brought this up before and it’s something we have to expect to be brought up in the waning days of his presidency, probably on a late Friday night. Not only the pardoning of his minions but of himself in one way or another. It’s obviously not beyond him.

One of the legal strategies considered in this video, which I hadn’t even thought of, is resigning the presidency and having Mike Pence pardon him and possibly the Trump Organization? o_O

well i guess we are in agreement then in every way but actual implementation.. since it works better everywhere else , how about we agree our system sucks at present and we ought to try a proven superior system.. i'm not sure why "higher taxes" is a universal disagreement with right leaning people.. if the equation means *your cost is lower overall* what's the opposition other than insurance company driven misinformation...

it doesn't even bother me as long as he is gone.. and is rendered impotent in future endeavors...

that's certainly a wide sweeping generalization.. that can also be applied to "economic voting republicans"... i would submit both views are short sighted...

Has an organization ever been pardoned by a president?

Because, rightly or wrongly, one of the issues is care availability. To a lot of people lower costs are irrelevant if you can't get appointments or procedures scheduled when you need them. Anyone who has taken macro-economics knows that demand goes up as the price of a good or service trends toward zero. For scarce resources like medical services it's a tough problem. Personally I'm also firmly on the page of personal responsibility as a factor in cost.

Wow. That was something.

It's been so long since I've watched cable news it all seems so weird now. I can't fathom people watching this and thinking "gee, what good reporting". It all seems like a bad movie.
I've never seen anything like this in my lifetime. I think Trump's legacy will be giving a voice to the uneducated and ignorant. Remember: he "loves the uneducated!"
It's so stupid I wanna toss the hat in, but than I'm reminded to help in my own tiny way to put the butts out. I'll see things like, "But the electoral map is shaded mostly red!" It's as if they're far too young, or they slept through government class. So you try and explain to them that Alaska is a large state, but we can't be giving them 20 electorals because few want to live up there in the cold.

Another amazingly stupid accusation. She didn't see what was going on inside the vans, but something is going on.

Sweeping? Hollywood. People who want to be seen. People who want to be pretty. People who want to be rich. Kato Kaelin and others who insert themselves in the lives of famous people. Do you watch the news?

My last comment referred to Pelosi and Feinstein. If you're not aware of what's happening in their district, check it out- it's pretty appalling.

Adam 12 is on, here. Bonanza is at a different time and IIRC, only on weekends.

Our system sucks, but I think it's because of the way health insurance has been allowed to deny claims and because of the litigious nature of our country. Where else can someone sue the shyte out of someone for making a mistake and get tens or hundreds of millions of dollars? Sure, some are based on a doctor's negligence or some other preventable error, but the settlements are sometimes so high it's a wonder anyone would want to enter the field when malpractice insurance is so high. Health care professionals want to treat people- I don't think there's much argument against that.

Higher taxes are OK for those who can afford them but many can't. Unfortunately for the latter, there's nobody in Congress who's willing to work for anyone who can't prop up their collective bank accounts.

If Congress and the rest of government were efficient and could be seen as 'doing a good job for the American public', I don't think as many people would have a problem but by 'doing a good job', I don't mean pandering to people. We have problems in this country that aren't being addressed- education is at the top of the list and without that, people won't make the decisions that keep them housed, fed, healthy, safe, out of prison, and generally happy. Many personal decisions make people unhealthy and that means we require more medical treatment for preventable problems. Because government is needed for some things, taxes aren't bad, but the IRS isn't supposed to be an agency used to penalize people. OTOH, some wealthy people could step up and stop trying to get away with zero tax liability but since Congress really seems to be there for them, the rest of us are kind of screwed. I would like members of Congress who are wealthy to stop speaking of 'the wealthy' as if it's a completely separate group. It's as if they think were too stupid to see what they're doing but the reality is, they just don't give a rat's butt.

Man! Lampwick? I had to look that one up because it has been so long......

The saying 'First World problems' was coined about the US, I think. Where else can someone be a millionaire and consider themself 'poor'?
