Questions about Inefficient speakers with audyssey

You shouldn't have to bump all the levels up....I have not ever had to do that. Closest I get is with my turntable, it just has lower output to start with.

Your dac has sufficient output for the line inputs on the avr to get full volume, tho.

Can you take actual measurements of the spl (even with a phone app) at various master volume control settings?

Is this a new-to-you unit? Did you run the reset?

Did you use these speakers with any other receiver/amp and got them to the levels you're seeking? I remember from your other thread these are indoor/outdoor type speakers of fairly low sensitivity, but they should still get quite loud.

no brand new never tried another amp with it.

yeah I live in Alabama and it gets hot in the garage that’s why I didn’t get bookshelfs.

That’s test tones, that’s the average. I’m using Bluetooth from my iPhone and using tidal app

Test tones are supposed to be 75dB at reference volume. Playback of movies at reference level (0) would be an average level of 85dB with peaks up to 20dB higher (and 10dB more on the LFE channel).

Okay.. I only listen to music in this setup more like multi ch music. I do have a sunbrite tv in the garage but don’t watch movies

Music isn't recorded to the THX for movies standard that the reference volume indicates, music can be all over the place accordingly for level....but reference generally would be very loud.

yesh my and wife was like this still not loud at reference like we could still have a conversation.

multi ch stereo... is the right one for all 4 speakers and sub.

It would be the loudest since you're duplicating the L/R channels in both pairs of speakers. Not one I use for listening except maybe for parties, I prefer 2ch stereo or surround multich depending on content.

I did full reset will do run audyssey in the morning.... now my speakers are mounted on the wall I don’t know if that has to do anything with the reference level sound....

audyssey previous settings were

80hz speaker crossover
LFE 120hz
SMALL

For music do y’all still use 120hz as a crossover? Or use another HZ?
