Receiver Advice

Putting in a 7.1 system in the the couple weeks with Klipsh PRO RPC in-ceiling along with a 75” Samsung frame TV, and a 12” sub. Any recommendations on a receiver to go with my system? I like earc so I can control everything with my TV remote. Other than that I don’t need super high end, just something decent to drive those speakers. One I get one picked I figure I’ll keep an eye out for Black Friday deals.

Thanks. I was reading about that one in a few threads. Wanted to confirm it wasn’t overkill/underkill for my speakers. I’m guessing since it’s already on heavy discount there won’t be any sense waiting till Black Friday.

Well, for many audiophiles it usually comes down to the DMY club - Denon, Marantz, Yamaha.

These days, thanks to COVID-19, it might be down to just Denon due to supply shortage and high demand, which reminds me of the drug shortages that I see daily at my hospital.

I personally use Yamaha, but I have clients who want to purchase the Yamaha RX-A1080, A2080, and especially RX-A3080, but my distributors don’t even have any to sell me.

Even if I have 10 clients who want to the buy the Yamaha a2080 or a3080, I can’t sell them any.

So these days it probably comes down to the Denon X3000 and X4000 series. Unless they get sold out too if people are buying them because people can’t buy any Yamaha a1080, a2080, and a3080. Thus, the supply shortage of one brand may lead to the shortage of the other brands, which also reminds of what happens with the drug shortages.

Get while the getting is good, 2021 looks like a lean year to come for this hobby. I've never seen anything like this in my 47 years with this hobby. Even A4L is running low on refurbs.
