My setup right now is is a vtf3 mk3 in the front left corner and 2 vtf1's stacked in the front right corner. I can get a hsu vtf2 mk4 for a good price. would the mk4 with a 12 inch woofer outperform 2 vtf1's with 10s. the vtf1's are I think 200 watt subs and the mk 4 is a 250 watt. would you get the mk4 to replace the set of vtf1's or pass?

I think the VTF-2 mk4 is a better fit for some VTF-3 mk3s than two VTF-1s. The reason is tuning frequencies. The VTF-2 mk4 can be made to have more similar performance to the VTF-3 mk3s than the VTF-1s. Basically, it should be more comfortable at deep frequencies than the VTF-1s.

that is was I was thinking as well. I bought the 10s off MP way back as a pair for a good price. would the 100 watt difference between the mk4 and mk3 be a problem?

The amplifier differences will not be a problem. They are using the roughly same driver, so those subs are a good match.
