Every time I turn off and on the receiver my lip sync setting resets to 0 ms. Very obvious when watching content.

Is there a way to to fix this new problem? Is it a firmware glitch?

Mine stays at 40ms

I’m on firmware 2.65 on RXA2060

Is Delay menu greyed out? Mine did this from the musiccast app before when I enabled Musicast on 2 Yamaha receivers at the same time to play the same music in the 2 rooms at the same time. I had to re-enable lip sync afterwards in the Musiccast app.

I’m not using Musicast at all. All my sources are HDMI. AppleTV 4K, Sony UHD Blu-Ray player and PS4.

The menu is not greeted out and is fully adjustable. It just resets when the receiver is turned off with my Harmony remote (and the original remote after testing).

I don’t have that issue on my 2060 or 770 I believe @little wing has a 3060.

Firmware 2.65 is definitely the latest firmware. Luckily I don't have any lip sync issues at all so I leave it at 0ms. I have a Roku Ultra, an Oppo 105 and a direct TV box plugged into the 3060.

What you're experiencing doesn't sound right to me. If you haven't called Yamaha, I would recommend it. They have good customer service, they should be able to tell you what's going on.

Does this unit have hdmi auto lip sync? Is auto lip sync not working, is this why you need to do it manually? Is it possible this is a temporary setting from a quick menu or the like that is intended only for the current session? Don't have a Yamaha, so more curious what options there are....

For my 65KS8000 Samsung UHD TV, I set with 40ms lip sync on RXA2060. My 1080p TVs are set at 0ms. A Panasonic plasma with RXA770 and a Toshiba LED with RXV681

Edit: Yes there is an Auto Lip Sync feature. See page 136 of the manual.

It’s possible the auto lip sync is enabled. Maybe try to disable that if you want a custom setting.

Thanks for the info....do you use auto sync and that's the resultant setting you see when you check?

I don’t use it actually. I have mine set manually at 40ms on the 2060. I can’t recall if I tried auto but I may have at one point.

Edit: I have the other 2 (RXA770 and RXV681)set at Auto now and looks good. It does display 0ms when auto is enabled.

Yes when you enable Auto Lip Sync, the 0ms appears on them. I think that’s likely what is going on for the original poster.

That's what happens when I look at mine with auto sync, but I don't have any need for adjustment normally (have had some issues with streaming now and then I've tried to solve that way, tho).

I seem to recall trying it on the 4K TV and not being satisfied so I ended up at manual with 40ms. I may go back and try auto again on that TV too.

I do most of my Blu-ray watching and music listening in the Den on the 65in TV. Mostly I’m watching apps on Firestick in the other rooms.
