This was one of the reasons I cancelled DirectTV Now after 4mo. (Using Apple TV 4K). The commercials were screaming loud.

There is some setting in Firestick, it is common for all apps. Something like Normalize sound level. Not 100% sure. Can this help?

If not then it looks like the only option for time being is to be careful and reduce volume before jumping from app to app.

My Fire Stick doesn't have such that I can find. I've seen certain music playback software/apps that have such, to level the volume across content but not sure if its a simple volume adjustment or one using dynamic compression. That could do the trick perhaps...

Yeah it was nice with the FCC enforced the commercial volume thing but then cable and sat and internet don't have to follow the rules because they're not broadcast....

It’s here on firestick 4K:

settings/display & sounds/audio/advanced audio/volume leveler. On/Off

It lowers the volume quite a bit on everything. I’m not sure I like it on or off. I’ll have to try it.
