Terminator Dark Fate: Quick Review

My overall quick thoughts: Solid B Action Movie that it is on par with the first two, more so then most of the other attempts at making a good Terminator Movie. The plot will not surprise anyone and there is too much exposition between Dani and Grace during the final battle, but was definitely fun to watch on the big screen (IMAX)

I will definitely watch Dark Fate.

I liked every single Terminator movie so far.

I liked it better than this guy, "The Critical Drinker", but his movie reviews crack me up. Very tongue in cheek, but he makes some legit criticisms.

I didn't think it was terrible. It does tickle the nostalgia bone a little, bringing back Arnold and Linda. Tho I think they really under-utilized the latter. I don't think it's on par with the first 2 at all, but is probably the best of the bunch that follow.

Me too, but I haven't seen the one before Dark Fate. T2 will always be the best one...
Yes, but the longest version that was on DVD, the one you had to hunt through the menu, is not on BD:mad:

I watched it Saturday on BLuRay . Its a stellar production from both an audio and video presentation. This is my 2nd favourite in this series behind T2. This flick is entertaining from an audio, video, and tongue in cheek hurmour perspective. Sarah Connors is more bad ass than Arnold in this flick. Highly recommended.

I had said that I enjoyed every single Terminator movie so far.

Well, I guess there's always a first time for everything because I absolutely hated this Terminator Dark Fate movie. :D

PQ and SQ were great. But I thought the story/plot, casting, acting, writing, directing all sucked.

So I'm going to ignore that this movie was ever made. It will not be part of my movie library. :D

I think that review is spot-on accurate. I hated everything about this Terminator movie. It has a billion plot holes. By the time the movie ended, I wanted all the characters to die in the movie. :D

We saw it last Tuesday. Good movie once the different timeline was accepted.

We rented it last night. Not bad, but I think it flopped at the box office because of Franchise Fatigue. I think the first 3 Terminator movies were good, the following 2 were extremely mediocre, and this one would have been great as Terminator 4, but the franchise is stale after 6 films and 35 years.

Nah, look at the Bond stuff. It's still good.

What makes T43 (hyperbole) stale is using the same special effects, stunts and chase scenes that have already been used in prior films. It was like watching older versions done with a lower budget.

It's also a little depressing hearing the age in Linda Hamilton's voice. I can handle the effects of aging visually but she sounds like somebody I know who was a life long smoker and died recently. Hamilton was about as fine as frog's hair back in the day. Time takes its toll ... but I'm still a chick magnet. ;)

Bond succeeds because it doesn't have a lot of continuity. Characters are re-used but timelines aren't central to every film. The Daniel Craig films do carry some continuity but it's contained over the 10 year span since Casino Royale and will probably end after Craig's last film this year.

Theyve definitely taken too many "artistic" liberties with the Terminator series and it kind of jumps all over the place after the first 2 films.
