I recently upgraded my Sony STR-DH750 to Pioneer VSX-LX303 with Pioneer Andrew Jones speaker set.
I have added AJ Atmos enabled modules to the front tower with some Dual Indoor/outdoor speaker to make it a 5.1.4 setup. All these speakers are 8 Ohms.

My question is for me to get a decent volume I have to pump the volume close to -25dB, is this correct? sorry newbie here any guidance is appreciated.

I have 3 Andrew Jones for L,C,and R, there ok to hold me over but I’m %90 music and I like it loud. I can say the speakers will be much better amplified

Hi huskie. Welcome to the forum. That sounds about right. The Pioneer AVR is using a different volume scale than the Sony you previously had. Sony AVRs like to make it “appear “ that they have more power for a given volume level. Hope this helps some.
