I know this has probably been answered before in so many words, but I was unable to find anything through the search. To make this short, I'm having an issue getting sound from the audio return channel. When I first set my system up, it worked fine. Went away for the weekend, came back, and it wasn't working. Got on the phone with Samsung (TV) and they walked me through a couple things in settings (that I had already looked at) and deemed it a probably HDMI cable issue. The cable is brand new and had previously been sending the audio, and was still currently sending video from the receiver to the TV so that didn't seem like the issue to me. Got on the phone with Sony (receiver) and they walked me through some different troubleshooting steps. Basically, they had me power cycle both the TV and the receiver as well as try a different cable. This ultimately fixed the issue. After I got off the phone with them, I reconnected the new cable, and it was working fine. The next day, same issue. I unplug both power sources and both ends of the cable, plug everything back in, and it works... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It seems to work fine until the next day when everything has been sitting in standby for a while. No idea what the heck is going on. Is this an ARC issue in general? Is this the two sources having trouble communicating for some reason? Should I just go back to using my optical cable I used with my old, HDMI-less receiver?
