I lost a little more respect for Sony after seeing these specs. :D

Is there a different "watt" or "electrical currency" for Asia-Sony vs USA, like the money currency conversion? :D

Maybe 26,400W for Asia-Sony = 26.4W in USA? :D
Sony is a really fooling people (noobs) here in Asia :p 26,400W PMPO

If the speakers have the usual binding posts where you can connect speaker cables or bare wires to them, then you should be able to use them on any AVR/amp.

Show us a picture of the back of the speakers - the part where the wires connect the speakers.
It is sealed and don't think you can tell anything looking at it.

Well, like HD and I have been saying, we just don't know enough about this system to make a recommendation.

I wouldn't take any chances connecting these things to my high quality AVR or amps.

I think in the $1000 price range you could buy an entire 5.1 system that blends bookshelves/satellites (speakers and 7.1 AVR) which would produce higher fidelity sound. Down the line you could add better/bigger front speakers and repurpose the front bookshelves into your two extra surrounds. If it were me, I'd be more concerned with the reproduction of mid-range frequencies- poor, muddled dialog will ruin movies.

From the looks of your subwoofer cable, it looks like Sony deliberately chose to use that connection to make sure you can't use the components of that system with other components. I bet if a Sony engineer and marketing guy read this thread together, they'd give each other a high five, wink and say "mission accomplished" ;)

They sure can get away with a lot more things in Asia/Europe. :D

I got the unit back from service center just now and they gave me in almost dead condition. At least when I gave it to them everything was working I was getting only 1 error on screen 'sometimes'. But I was able to use it and every feature was working.

Sony people tried to repair it and in the process they killed the whole unit. Now it is completely dead. It's is piece of garbage now. Nothing is working except the lights on front. No sound output to speakers, USB not working, Video out dead, Bluetooth dead, DVD Rom dead (Tray is not even ejecting out),FM/AM dead, Aux dead

I asked lot of question to Sony engineer he didn't know what crossover is, why there are double wires for sub-woofer, don't know real RMS, etc basically they don't know poop.

Anyways,
Please check some photos of inside of AVR and maybe then you can tell the right configuration in this music system like if amp, crossover, etc are inside AVR or not :

Photos from all angles in detail. Link : INSIDE OF AVR

* Also if you need photo of specific component, please let me know

In case you haven’t gotten the message from all of us, it’s DEAD and there’s no point looking inside it or doing anything else with it.

Move on and get a new system. This time, don’t buy a single-box-solution. But a separate AVR, separate speakers, and separate subwoofer.

If you want us to give our thoughts on a new system, we can do that. But you should tell us all the available options where you live.

I couldn't tell you from photos of the interior as to any troubleshooting guidance (I couldn't repair such a unit without guidance and the proper equipment myself nor do I expect anyone is going to come along and be offer such detailed analysis/guidance), but I would say you have limited options, either to find a better repair center or buy a new unit.

Reason I posted fotos is if anyone can tell if they can see amp and cross over inside the AVR or not? As I dont know what they look like

You think they removed them?
No lol I want to know if amp and cross-over for sub-woofer and woofer/tweeter is inside the AVR or the speaker. Coz I can't open the speakers as it's too tightly sealed.

If we can see them in AVR, then it's understood the speaker unit has no amp and cross-over

Ah, forgot that part. Amp module might be identifiable doubt a crossover circuit would particularly be.

Second row far left looks to show caps and heatsink of amp...but I'm assuming somewhat. Maybe someone else can confirm....

Seriously, I have no life.
Its time to give it to you up straight. That is a particularly nasty HTIB system. It was all junk new and now garbage junk. The whole lot needs to be environmentally disposed of.

I can tell it is very low powered and the amps are very low powered IC amps. I can tell the sub is passive.

Usually when speakers from an HTIB are connected to a decent receiver it all ends very badly as a rule.

As others have said you need to junk that. Yes, all of it. Do not buy another HTIB, but a receiver and separate speakers and an active sub. Buy separate peripheral units like the Disc player for instance.
