PSA S3611 or SVS PB16

I heard them at a store called Listen Up, in a controlled environment. I went home and came back with my own media. The room we were in was large. They had 3 demo movie screens in it. They can sell the SVS but could not sell the PSA. It was there for sound engineers to do testing.

I didn't want to just rush out and buy anything before getting some information, pros and cons about the item.

As far as the room, I like to keep the room as manageable as possible. And not have a giant subwoofer visible.

Chasing 10 Hz in a very large room with a limited budget and WAF to contend with, that is a lot to deal with. Maybe look at the JTR Captivator 2400 ULF, that is tuned to 10Hz and it is not as big or expensive as the 4000 ULF. It will have a very substantial output advantage over a S3611 at 10 Hz.

And that's why we are having dialogue... LOL

My Cewin Vega(s) sound okay in the listening area. But they have no bass extension whatsoever. Any materials containing frequencies under 30Hz, they will not reproduce the sound nor give the feeling. The MTX 15s inside of my SM 255 responds down to about 13Hz. The enclosure is not designed for those subwoofers. They sound great and you can slightly feel the low end. If I increase the volume, the port noise is ridiculous. But when I heard the PSA and SVS, individually they shook the h*ll out of me and the SVS port noise wasn't as ridiculously pronounced as mine. Both subs reproduced an effect that was intense. The PSA just felt more intense in the low frequency.

Listen Up will bring the SVS to my home for evaluation. But not the PSA. And yes, I have the appointment for Thursday thru Monday. It's still too big, by dimensions spec, but I'm curious... LMAO

They are testing both subwoofers now using REW and another measuring devices. They've had the PSA for a few days now. They don't have really anything negative to say about it. And this is a store full of audiophiles in sales. So they could have just trash talked the PSA and shoved the SVS at me. But they didn't.

I'll be swinging by to see their results.

Compared to even a single SVS PB16 you havent heard good bass in your space yet.

This is why I'm shopping for one. I value opinions and research facts. Trying to stay away from Best Buy showroom floor subs.
