Thank you I really enjoy them but they are the reason why I’m looking for sub!
hah hah great towers will do that too you I think you like a lot of midbass punch it sounds like in my opinion Id recommend the HSU subs for you the 15's.

Although once you cross everything at 80hz unless your doing a huge step up in different model lines I think a lottof of an sound and perform pretty close to each other from about 60hz on down.

It's just some extend a little deeper and vice versa. It really boils down to preference at that point when your looking at the higher end subs you know what you want to pay looks size how It works in your room stuff like that.

We're living in a great age for being a buyer of subs you really can't go wrong with any of the top brands out there

I did some research and now I’m looking at vtf 2 mk5 it’s 12 inch and within budget also the vtf3 mk5 is about $250 more.

That vtf3 mk5 is a great sub if it's in your budget that's a great choice. Down the road if you feel like really going crazy get another one!

I think "boomy" is often associated with the 100Hz-200Hz range. Of course if you crank the subs loud enough and/or don't limit the low pass with a steep enough curve, you could end up with boomy no matter how good your low end response is. Just my take on it after fiddling with bass settings over the years....

I think that’s mostly true. However I’ve heard subs that are pretty flat to 23-25hz that were high Q non linear boomy fart boxes. Looking at you klipsch and Polk!

I own a vtf2 mk5 and I’m very pleased with it. It was within my budget and from the specs I could not find anything that could change my mind. When money permits and I get the upgrade bug I will most likely get the vtf 15h. The vtf2 is a very capable sub

Yeah I have to agree especially with as you said accuracy and linearity.

All of my old subs were like the Klipsch and Polk etc etc that I could score on Craigslist I think those factors have as much to do with it as the 100hz and up range.

I've never heard bass like I have since I went with RSL and then SVS. I know there's a lot more out there but just those 2 brands made all of my old subs sound like distorted sound bars

My only upgrade is a 2nd Vtf 15h mk2 they are massive... to fit a 2nd I’d have to make it a table for the kids to play on lol.

Absolutely. It’s one of those things. Once you experience clear linear bass, there’s NO going back. I also think it’s an experience that’s hard to explain to someone else and have them understand.

Lol! Distorted soundbars!!! I love the high Q, no damping 60hz FR bump subs they come with too. Ignorance is bliss!

Excellent! I know for a sealed unit it’s a beast. Hope it’s enough for you. Curious, did you choose it based on size?

I had an SB2k in my house(not as a main subwoofer). It is a fantastic sounding sub. Just not powerful. However, the ultra is a completely different story. Make sure to share impressions.
