Is Yamaha RxA 3080 enough to run a 7.1.2 channel set up with 4 ohm LCR speakers in a 12*16*10 feet room without external Power Amplifier?

Yeah I just don’t know why anyone would benefit from one ?

I think some people may benefit from external amps, but they usually own separates like pre-pros, preamps, and externally-powered subwoofers. Or they have bigger rooms, sit far away from their speakers, and listen louder than they should. :D

I think most people have rooms that are 15' x 18' x 10' or smaller, have speakers that are usually 4-ohm or higher, and listen to more sensible volume. So they usually don't benefit from external amps - unless the "benefit" is from more than just the amp itself (peace of mind, pride of ownership, etc.).

If you're not specific hard to know what you're not sure of.
This reminds me of my high school English teacher Mrs. Judy Randolph. When students used the word "One" (as in "one might do this or that"),she would say, "One what? One cow?" :D

LOL I had a bunch of teachers like that, including my parents (who both taught at one point).

I was t sure why you would want a high dollar integrated amp unless you could some how use it to power the surrounds and Atmos ?

You would never intentionally by an integrated amp to power surround speakers. You could possibly use one that's laying around, but not the ideal solution

From what I’ve read they claim to have a better sound ? Do the tube amps actually have a better sound ?

Mostly audiophile bullshit. Tubes are a matter of preference. Silly to use an integrated amp as a power amp and wouldn't be useful in a surround system generally.

If you had $8,000 to spend on your audio starting from scratch what would be your selection ?

You mean for the audio ELECTRONICS only or for EVERYTHING?

If it's for everything, then I would spend the majority on speakers.

If you are talking about just the Pre-pro and Amp, I would still go for the Yamaha CX-A5200 pre-pro and MX-A5200 11Ch amp, which would be around $4,000 street price.

I think some people might go for the Monolith HTP-1 pre-pro and Monolith Amps (200x7 + 200x2 = 7.1.2),which would be $6,600.

The Monolith HTP-1 pre-pro is an economy version of the $10K DataSAT/ATI LS10 pre-pro.

The Monolith 200x7 amp is an economy version of the $6K ATI amp.

The Monolith 200x2 amp is an economy version of the $3K ATI amp.
