I have trouble setting crossover for my Klipsch R34c center channel, because his frequency responce is from 82-21k hz +/- 3db. Can i set it to 80hz??

Hi guys, hope you all had great holidays!! Quick question i have a concern with my Klipsch R34c center channel, because his frequency responce is from 82- 21hz +/- 3db. Should i set the crossover to 90hz to avoid damage. Or because is so close to 80, can i put the crossover to 80hz? Plz help!!
I have a 7.1 klipsch speaker system with 2 R820f for mains, R34c for center, and 4 R51M for surround and surround back with a 12 inch sub the R120.

Also your opinion if it just better for me to change the R34c for the RP504c since it has better low end response and maybe it will go better with my 2 R820F main speakers. Plz help!!

Makes no difference in terms of damage risk, but 90 Hz would likely increase the chance for better integration with the subwoofer. So you may want to try 90 and 100 Hz and settle on the one that sounds best to you.

Peng is absoluetely correct. Damage is not a concern. Setting the crossover too low will result in a reduction in output near the crossover point (because the center can't pull it's portion of the weight).

It's important to understand/remember that a crossover isn't a brick wall. If you have a crossover at, say "80Hz", the speaker is still being asked to put out sound at 60Hz, and the sub is being asked at 100Hz. They overlap.

I'd recommend experimenting; but you may want to go to 100-120Hz.

No the R820 F stand for 8 inch floor standing speaker. The biggest in the reference line is the r34c for center chanel, now if i want a bigger center it will be either the RP404c or the 5 inch RP504C center chanel from Klipsch.
