Good morning
Recently I brought Marantz SR 6013
I have emotive T1 floor standers (4 ohm)and emotive t1 centre(4 ohm)
Whqtfaedale surround speakers- D10 DFS - 4 speakers
Wharfaedale - DFS 10 - front height
Wharfaedale D10 as subwoofer

My question is
1) Does Audyssey checks impedance of speakers while doing room correction
2) Do I need to change impedance before doing Audyssey
3) since I have done already setup do indeed to change impedance to 4 ohm or I need to change impedance and re run Audyssey
4) bass management- lfe alone or lfe plus main
5) cross over frequency how much to keep
Audyssey got 120 can I keep same or change it to 80

Please help me. Waiting for reply
With regards
Vinayaka

No
2) Do I need to change impedance before doing Audyssey
No, you can change it any time before or after. Please note that if you change it to 4 ohm, the SR6013 will limit the output. If you don't listen very loud and sit not too far away from the speakers, you don't have to set it to 4 ohms. We can say this in a more definitive way if you provide your room dimensions and seating distance from the speakers.
3) since I have done already setup do indeed to change impedance to 4 ohm or I need to change impedance and re run Audyssey
No need to re run Audyssey.
4) bass management- lfe alone or lfe plus main
It is up to you, if you set the main speakers to large, lfe+main will allow the subwoofer to play the lfe channel contents and will also play/duplicate the low frequency signal send to the main speakers. If you set it to lfe, the subwoofer will only play the lfe contents and the low frequency signal in the main speaker channels below the crossover point. So if the main speakers are set to "small", lfe or lfe+main really makes no difference.
5) cross over frequency how much to keep
Audyssey got 120 can I keep same or change it to 80
Again, it is up to you, you can leave it at 120 Hz, or try 110, 100, 90, and 80 Hz and then stick with the one you think sounds best to you in you main listening position.[/QUOTE]

Audyssey doesn't recommend lowering crossovers, but no problem in raising them. They say if you lower them it opens a gap in the eq (which you may or may not find a problem on the other hand). I'd be more concerned why Audyssey set such a high crossover particularly for your mains. Also, hopefully you are not referring to the LPF of LFE setting of 120hz, which is normal (and is not a crossover).

I think it is for LPF of LFE setting - 120 h Z . I will check again sir

What is the difference between the different screen shots for crossovers? Which did Audyssey set (or is this just your manual settings afterward as mentioned before)? I do see Dynamic Volume is enabled, that's some I prefer off (altho might be helpful for when you're trying not to bother others in the house or something).

That is correct, I missed the part that yours were set to 120 Hz as that normally is the case for small satellite speakers. Your speakers should do much better, I would suggest you re-run Audssey and follow instructions to the letter.

So I assume you won't be more than 9 ft from any speakers. In that case I would leave it at 8 ohms. If you hear any sign of distortions turn it down.

If done right, I would expect the T1 tower XO set to 60 Hz or even lower, even 40Hz, the you can try 80 and 90 Hz.
