Buying a projector would you buy the stores extended warranty? In Canada at visions for the epson 5040 is 560cdn. And the 4000 is like 450cdn.for 4 years but it’s actually 2 years because it runs with epsons 2 year warranty. But if you don’t use visions warranty at the end of the four years it turns to store credit.

Probably not. I have purchased extended warranties for cars and electronics before and never had to use one. JMHO,

I just had my 4 year old dishwasher refunded full price at bestbuy. But we are talking a 100 bucks not close to 600. The only thing that worries me is the power supply on the epson but I guess it can happen to any brand

I have a warranty with my credit card that extends it 2 years past the manufactuer's warranty, I just put it on that card and pay it off right away

Extended warranties are more about retailer profit than a consumer benefit. Also check the terms of the extended warranty, it is often limited. I go with the general idea of electronics will fail fairly early in life rather than mid-life....

The average person will likely get burned once or twice in their lifetime by a failed out of warranty device. If they bought a warranty for everything they buy they will come out in the negative. So i take my chances by avoiding them and im confident ive saved alot of money in my life so far.

The store I bought my PJ from a few years ago offered a similar warranty. I don't normally go for extended warranties, but in this case, I decided to take it. If I didn't have to make a warranty claim, I knew there would be something at the store that I'd put the credit towards. In the end, I didn't make any claims, so I used the credit to put towards some Sonos components. I suspect that the store/warranty provider hope that over the course of the warranty period, you will forget about the in-store credit. But, that's something I was never gonna forget...

What CC is that? Annual fee?
Wells Fargo Signature Visa, no annual fee. That credit cards had such was something I'd read about when researching refurb avrs, never even occurred to me until I looked it up. Some do even more is my understanding.
