A lot of electronics went down. Help me devise a cost effective strategy!

And that's made in USA (Edit: As HD corrected me, of course it was made in Japan, it's a Denon after all..) so I think people have to accept the fact that electronics failure are not that uncommon, though in general they could last for many years without major trouble. It is like a probability distribution too, very few will fail much earlier while a few will last so long that seem forever, while the majority will do well for 8 to 10 years, just saying..
Hello
I talked to one of the good technician when he was working on my Sansui vintage amp, i asked him about the Denon and Onkyo and Yamaha which ones are trouble free and good quality parts in them, he replied Yamaha higher models not lower ones, i own a Yamaha A-S801 Integrated amp 100 watts/channel , Harmon Kardon 6 different models, Denon 2500 older model and Onkyo older model don't remember the model number , so far i like the sound of this Yamaha it has smooth response not harsh, i might go for A-S2100 or AS3000 but they are expensive, but life is short enjoy best of the best.
Enjoy Music....

I believe that some are more reliable, but I do not believe (no supporting evidence) in the "brand sound". We know how to make all kinds of sound (rock/jazz live concerts) don't we? You want to make something to sound more airy, or steely, use DSP/EQ etc., and you'll get the job done. How do you think electronic keyboards, organs work? Expectation bias has huge effects, if you read a ton of material telling you about say, another brand, Marantz golden, warm, acoustical sound, and then audition their $5000 integrated amp, you will hear what you read, especially if there is a audio specialist (aka sales rep..) right there urging you to pay attention to the "air".

The fact is, it is not difficult to build amps that are accurate, transparent, it is then up to the user to play with EQ, processing to suit their own tastes.

If you are a believer though, may as well go with the A-S3000, the 801 is nice, but based on specs and measurements, they are comparable to higher mid range AVRs such as the Marantz SR7012, Denon AVR-X4400H, Yamaha RX-A2070, and up. That's just my opinion, formed over the years based on numerous comparison listening, reading up on specs and measurements, and knowledge in electronics. Comparison listening sessions were the subjective part obviously, the rest are objective facts.

Grrr tonight I put most of my stuff back together and my Samsung TV has the dreaded "No Signal HDMI" failure. I ran the diagnostic and came back all failures. Will post in the appropriate forum, but this is absolutely crazy. The TV was working before I took everything apart 2 weeks ago. Probably a crap solder job. Per the service menu only 450 hours.

I just want a faithful reproduction. I have speakers that are plenty good. I want to enjoy the content, not the black space.

Well I reflowed the DTS chip and installed a heat sink. Have my Onkyo working. I kind of feel like some of y’all are kind foolish for saying I should buy something new.

I cut open the A5 volume pot and cleaned it. Sounds fine now.

I have a new main board for my TV. That goes in tomorrow.

Now if I could just figure out how to fix these squeezeboxes and the knee I injured last week
