RBH Impression or Ascend Acoustics 200SE?

We are now in our house and I have the front 3 channels narrowed down. Option 1 would be 3 RBH Impression R515 (non Elite) with HSU VTF2 sub or 3 Ascend Acoustics HTM-200SE with Rythmik LV12R sub. Both work out to virtually the same price. I plan on using some cheaper speakers from Amazon (Dayton or JBL) for the rear two channels. 85-90% home theater use.

Instead of an R-515, I would opt for a R-5E. The aluminum drivers on the Impression Elites are a real step up from the polymica cone of the standard version.

A pair of R-5Es and a R-515E for the center?

You could do that. you could also just use a R-5E as a center if you have room to stand it up vertically. That is what I would do, and not because its less expensive but because it will have a better sound outside the direct axis.
