Hey there i'm new in this forum and i hope not to break any rules. I've got a JVC ux-g38 and i want to improve basses (to liten to music) so i started searching online. My budget is around 100/120$. I love deep basses and even if I'm gonna use it in a small room I would like to hear loud basses. Wich subwoofer do I buy? remember that it will be shipped to Italy so the price becomes much higher (exemple polk-sw10 costs 99$ + 270$for shipping in italy)(and then how do i connect it up with my stereo?)Thank you all. Pietro

That's a very low budget for a sub even in the US. Surely there are subs sold in Italy where you don't need to import it? Don't know much about your stereo system but likely has nothing built in to help you integrate a sub, so you'd need a sub with speaker level (also called high level) inputs.

It's going to cost you more than your planned budget just to ship a decent subwoofer from America to your country.

I suggest that you verify in your country. Maybe there are shops where you would be able to purchase a used one. Good luck in your endeavor.

Pietro I recommend this one it's one of the cheapest on amazon. Don't let the size fool you this will rock a small room: https://www.amazon.it/gp/aw/d/B0042A7CO6/ref=psdcmw_473386031_t2_B0042A7CP0
Can you show me a picture of the back of your JVC system wanna make sure you can add a subwoofer to it.
Hopefully he has some sort of line out he can utilize, couldn't find much on his mini component set (other than that's what it is). No speaker level/high level inputs on this sub http://assets.jamo.com/product-manuals/SUB210_OM.pdf

If this is it:

There's not much to do but go with a double set of wires to the sub and let the filter filter out what doesn't belong to the sub.

Something's amiss here in the entire story. Paying 270 on top of 99 makes no sense. You should find what you need in Italy. There's a vast community of audiophiles in Italy, I often check your classifieds. Where in Italy do you live, I might know some ads web site?

So first thing first i want to thank you all for the help, my budget is actually around 150$. The back of the system is the one killdozzer sent; i've got some speaker wire that i don't use they should do the work right?
I live in the north west of Italy (in Piemonte).
Sorry for the late reply.

Go on here and post here what they have in your price range: https://geo.craigslist.org/iso/it
If you can find a Dayton SUB1000 or SUB1200 there for a reasonable price pick one up.

I think Sonos subwoofer will better for you

The very first look at the Sonos subwoofer makes you wonder about the way this device produces the sound and about its enclosure design. Its construction is really unusual, featuring 2 low-frequency drivers facing one another, resulting in an impressive bass sound. While the regular design models produce palpable vibrations that you can feel when touching the enclosure, the Sonos subwoofer produces no vibrations at all. The drivers are accurately positioned to neutralise the vibrations and produce quality sound. Wherever you decide to install the woofer, on the floor or under the bed, you will definitely enjoy the rich bass. However, you need to make sure nothing blocks the sound output of the subwoofer. Otherwise, you may experience a dull sound. We’ve also liked the rubbered racks that stick to the bottom of the body and are really convenient to use.
A woofer or subwoofer that doesn't vibrate won't produce any sound. At low frequencies, those vibrations are easier to visualize than with a midrange driver or a tweeter.

I think he's saying the cabinet is relatively inert, as is the case with dual opposed sub drivers; Sonos faces theirs towards each other where most I've run into face out. The Sonos could be interesting if you had the rest of the Sonos gear to go with it. Didn't see any meaningful specs but a claim it plays to 25hz, has some nice wireless and app control features, tho. It's also USD 700 so a bit beyond the OP's budget in any case...

Just stop.

While the drivers may face themselves, the resonance inside a subwoofer is easily nullified with some simple bracing, and if needed, fill. The Sonos sub is still a plastic fantastic toy compared to brands like SVS, HSU, Rythmic, Funk, etc etc etc. Also, it's way over his/hers budget.

OP, if you want to add components, you need to have components. Save your money for a proper receiver/amp, and 2 main speakers with some oomph of their own. Add a subwoofer later. I almost bought a HTIB system, but my brother talked me out of it, and now my system runs circles around his.

Child's toy.

That's why I added the mini amp and speakers to my post yesterday. I think it would sound a lot better than what he has now. On Craigslist he should be able to get a reasonable prices. Christmas is right around the corner and he can ask for the sub as a gift.

A sub would be an amazing gift for a guy to open under the Christmas tree! :)
