Hi,
due to size issues, i am considering buying the 2.1 vs 2.0.
Any reason i can not reach the same sound?
i am assuming that the 805 Mid/Tweeters are the same, and do not requite the large cabinet to produce the sound and by taking a very good sub, i can reach same low level freqs as the 803.

Am i missing something in my theory?

Thanks
Oren.

IMO, if you're using a sub, extension below 50-60hz isn't necessary. Second, for home theater, a subwoofer is always all but a requirement. Even if you run full range on the main 5/7 channels, few if any speakers are equipped to handle the massive headroom required (115dB if you listen at reference) of the LFE channel.

I am all for 2.1 over 2.0.

Not even the B&W 800 D3 can compete with a great Subwoofer from Funk, SVS, HSU, Rythmik, RBH, and others when it comes to bass.
