Hooked up a Klipsch wireless sub and works well through my pioneer vsx 521 when watching antenna tv input. However, no sub sound coming through any other inputs.
Using the arc connection. Same thing with dig optical.
Shows Dolby digital when working.
Test run all speakers are working.

Only running 2.1. As this is the upstairs living room.

Any ideas are welcome before I lose my mind. thanks lads.

Damn pioneer I am ready for a denon 1300

You'll need to explain a little more clearly how things are all connected and setup. What sound modes you're using that enable the sub, etc. Wireless doesn't likely have anything to do with it, but perhaps if using an auto-on feature...maybe.

Ok all sound modes enable the sub via the tv antenna input, ( no cable or sat box on this tv) when running the ps4 for amazon netflix or youtube no sub with any sound mode chosen.

Sounds like an Auto-On issue. Try turning down the sub’s level knob, and then increasing the receiver’s sub output level.

A couple of things could potentially be causing this. If your TV’s outputs are variable, and the sound from the TV is noticeably louder than the other inputs, that would make it easier for the TV to trigger the sub’s auto-on. In addition, if you have the TV’s bass control dialed up, that would additionally contribute, as well.

Netflix, hbo, amazon and youtube are all run off the ps4. Only netflix enables the sub. When i use hbo or amazon or youtube the sub is not enabled, as soon as i open netflix it works immediately.

The tv coax in also enables the sub.

This makes no sense why the ps4 is the hub where all services are run but only netflix enables the sub.

Also, played a blu ray movie and again no sub.

I went into the ps4 settings and hdmi and dolby are enabled.

Did you try my suggestion?

If it only works on Dolby Digital and not 2.1, then you probably have an issue with the settings in your receiver. Even if you have 5.1 enabled in the PS4, not all programming from Netflix etc. is 5.1.

Same with blu-ra - not all movies are 5.1 (especially old ones), and some default to 2.1 unless you go into the disc's menu and select 5.1.

I have not tried it yet as i am away working.

What needs adjusted on the receiver to enable the sub at all times as i am only using a 2.1 setup?

I appreciate your help.

See Pg. 30 of the manual for manual speaker settings. Also, make sure you’re not in “Pure Direct” mode during 2-channel operation, which bypasses all digital processing (Pg. 26). I’ll bet that’s what the problem is.

Thank you.
I went through that settings menu a few times last night all is set. I just put it on direct mode and stereo alc, amazon enabled the subwoofer when I just now demoed Zombieland so it worked.

What should I choose as my crossover? 80hrz?
I want the sub to play as much as possible to add that depth.
