He pardoned the Jan 6 conspirators. THOSE are the kind of people who voted for this and they are going to be pissed when they can't afford the basics like eggs and ketamine.

I don't know why he is jonesing for Greenland? He is straight up delusional.

Unfortunately, not soon enough for the foreseeable future. But, in 26, there could be a chance to bridle him in totally, maybe. ;)
Me thinks that's part of his Blitzkrieg strategy, knowing that 'if' a large enough percentage does actually work for the better good of all(debatable I know), then the midterms could very well stay red.

Tighten up your lap belts, the ride is gonna be bumpy !

Need more than a lap belt, like a crash helmet, body armor, etc. ;) :)

I saw a video randomly in my LinkedIn feed yesterday (before anything had reached us here about "50% or Starlink gets it") supposedly showing an interview that had aired on Russian state controlled TV. I have no way of establish whether the video is real or fake. So while concerning, at first I did not think much of it. But is Trump actually now acting out this "script"?

LinkedIn post with video

I can only go by subtitles obviously, but the interview roughly transcribes as:

As soon as Zelinski rejects the agreements that will be reached, this will untie our and the American's hands.

We only need three things from the Americans.

Obviously, to stop financial and military aid to Ukraine. Secondly, to turn off Starlink and thirdly stop giving them (intelligence) data from the satellites.

That's it. That's it. After that, we will go like a knife into butter and all this Banderite scum will be cleared out within a few months.

I'm noticing that he's talking about a deal between the US and Russia in the future tense, likely based on the meeting in Saudi Arabia.

And the way he's talking about it suggests that the goal isn't negotiations for peace, but rather to construct an unacceptable deal in order to give the US an excuse to help Russia in the conflict.

I think it will be "interesting" to see which events will follow. I didn't really make much of the video originally, but seeing the next day that Trump is making outrageous claims against the Ukraine and threatening specifically to turn off Starlink seem rather concerning in this context.
I posted that February 22nd. So far, what 2½ for 3 on essentially doing Russia's bidding with no plausible explanation. Probably 3 given a few days.

Screw the Budapest Memorandum, apparently.

The mineral deal is not nearly as lucrative as it's made out to be by Trump, and the process demonstrated by the US has likely alienated EU defense spendings in the trillion dollar range from being spent in the US. So in no way is this a financial reasoning unfolding.

In addition to causing many US allies and the EU in general to boycott American products. In a time where Canadians and Mexicans are likely doing the same (for different reasons).

For a business man who says "America first" a lot, he sure seems hellbent on throwing the US into a new recession.

What we are seeing is mental illness in action. But the bad thing about all of this, he's surrounded by a whole lot of ass kissers. The GOP party doesn't have the guts to step in and stop the madness. Gloom and Doom.

"Worried about higher prices from tariffs? Trump says sacrifice will be worth it"

Trump, who campaigned extensively on reducing prices, acknowledged prices could go up in an all-caps blast on Truth Social.

“THIS WILL BE THE GOLDEN AGE OF AMERICA! WILL THERE BE SOME PAIN? YES, MAYBE (AND MAYBE NOT!). BUT WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, AND IT WILL ALL BE WORTH THE PRICE THAT MUST BE PAID,” he posted Sunday. “WE ARE A COUNTRY THAT IS NOW BEING RUN WITH COMMON SENSE — AND THE RESULTS WILL BE SPECTACULAR!!!

Spectacular for his cabinet and the 1% ( rich)

Interesting how one point and disregarding history can sway people so much on critical issues like who should be the president.
It is said - insanity is repeating the same action, and expecting a different result. Our foreign policy is a prime example. Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, Middle East, Iran are great examples, IMO.

Who do we go after and when the sacrifice is not worth the horrendous outcome.

He was suspecting Zelenskyy of wanting to start a 3rd World War, but if he continues as he is doing now, he is the one who is going to get it started.

I just searched for the reasons- Assist shows
"Trump wants Greenland primarily for its strategic military importance and potential natural resources, including rare earth minerals. He believes that controlling Greenland is essential for U.S. national security and has expressed a desire to integrate it into the United States, despite opposition from Greenland's leaders and residents."

Trump "has expressed a desire to integrate it into the United States"? What a shitty summary from a chatbot when Trump has threatened to invade Greenland.

Greenland is only a military concern for the US, if the US abandons the NATO "musketeer oath" and abandons one of its most steadfast allies, Denmark. I'm not arguing that would not happen (because... Reality), I'm simply saying that this argument is self inflicted and thus very pointless.

The US already has an air force base on Greenland and enjoys essentially freedom of movement there. This freedom was planned to be expanded to the rest of Denmark, but I'm doubtful that will pass parliament now. There's obviously no public support to be found for this currently.

If the US simply adheres to the known world order, noone would touch Greenland. Wonderful as it is, it simply isn't worth the very difficult and sustained conflict that would follow.

and potential natural resources, including rare earth minerals.
This is nonsense. Greenland is, and has been, "open for business". 28 individual entities have been awarded licenses to search for and extract raw materials in Greenland. Of those, only one is a US entity.

If the US had any interest, one would assume applications would exist and it would not require/excuse an invasion.

Same for real estate development.

He [...] has expressed a desire to integrate it[...]."
Invade it, to be blunt.

If you zoom out and consider Panama and Gaza also, I believe the sole reason at play here is Trumps desire for his legacy to be the first president in "almost a century " as he would likely phrase it, to add territory to the United States.

I believe Canada was briefly at play/mentioned before the inauguration too. But I'm sure even Trump understands that picking a fight with someone landlocked with the US carries the inherent risks that are very difficult to explain or justify.
