Focal Sib 5.1 special deal

For someone on a tight budget and just wants to get started, also for someone who wants a smaller type system and better than small cube speakers -- this is a good deal for $399

I like Focal and was curious about this product so did a little research. Thought I'd share!

As a couple of data points, Accessories4Less has these (new, no refurbs in stock) for $750 and NewEgg & Amazon for $800.

So, yeah, $400 is a good deal!

Also note that these are not mini-sats; they have a 5" mid-woofer (compared to 3" for Energy Take system and 4" mid-woofer in Pioneer/A. Jones BS speakers).
IMHO, the curved shape makes these less intrusive from a WAF perspective (given that they are not small).
8" ported sub has fixed crossover at 110Hz to match roll-off of speakers.


Focal recommends:
Room size: 320sqft to 430sqft.
(especially interesting that they put a lower limit on recommended room size, but that makes me think engineers might have been involved in those numbers...marketing would never put out numbers like this that might "kill the deal")!

A couple of nice things:
Available in Black or White
Mounting brackets (with internal cable routing) are built into speakers.

For scale. the sub is 13-1/8" tall (and 22.2lbs)

Yeah, if a body took their time and ran the wire through the walls properly, this would be a very clean installation!

Certainly much better than a HTIB or a soundbar. They have a new set that looks even better inmho. Seen it the other day, but don't remember where. Will see if I can find it again. Good stuff!
