Interested in upgrading my current, desk/room audio setup. I'm currently using basic Logitech tabletop speakers with a sub. Bought them off of a friend for $20, worth the money for the sound. But now i'm looking into getting serious about audio and need help/advice. My budget for everything is $250. I know, that's not a lot, but I just want to get started and build onto it.

I've been shopping around for Bookshelf speakers, both powered and one's that require an external DAC/amp. Should I go for expensive powered speakers that have a build in DAC/amp or get cheaper speakers with a nice DAC/amp. These are also going on my table top, space isn't an issue. I already have a sub that came with my current speakers, it has plenty of bass. Any speaker recommendations are welcome only if they fit into my budget. Again, i'm only looking into spending around $250 max. Thanks for the time.
I'd also like to add my main use of these speakers would be Music.

I’ve been using the Swans M200 for years – nice sounding speakers. Can’t go wrong for the price.

Thanks for the reply! I've seen these pop-up a few times during my search. Would love to find a store that has these on display so I could test. I will diffidently add these to my list.

Highly unlikely you’ll find a store selling the Swans. Chane offers a 30-day money back guarantee.
