Dolby Atmos Setup

Hey guys, so the wife gave me the OK!!!!

She wants the tv from downstairs to go upstairs, so we need to upgrade for our new home theatre system. I've decided on the Pioneers Elite receiver and Elite speakers but I'm sure I can order the older speakers and just purchase the Addons for Dolby Atmos. Will this work? Here's the list.

Hope everything works in sync from the dolby atmos addons, instead of purchasing the more expensive speakers that come with the enabled atmos. Anyone have any issues with this list, or have a better idea?

I wouldn't bother with the aim and bounce off the ceiling type atmos speakers personally; for me it's either true in- or on-ceiling speakers or forget it (and I am because my ceiling, in my main room at least, would be too much hassle).

What configuration/placement are you planning, though?

I wouldn't bother with that Pioneer "sub", assuming you want an actual subwoofer for your new home theater. Why the Pioneer avr particularly?

I was in a newly renovated bestbuy and walked into the new Dolby Atmos setup that sounds amazing. The sound above me was coming from the inverted speakers, therefore I was sold. Pioneer elite from Andrew Jones looked like the best option so far, once I got home and checked the internet .

I'm trying to have the best sound audio quality without going over the $1000-$1500 budget including reciever. I'm not a great audiophile, but want a great immersion with the new tv.

That's a challenging budget. The AJ Pioneer speakers are good value (and I'd stick to the bookshelves). Their sub isn't much, even if they throw it in for free. Better budget subs would be this Monoprice 12" or Dayton 12" or 15".

I had the the A90 on my bp 9060 with 8 foot smooth finished ceiling I didn't get the bounce I was hoping for so I returned them and replaced them with the Def Tech DI 6.5r there is a night and day difference. If you can go with in ceiling I would. Also right now Def Tech is offering buy two any bp9000 series towers and get the matching center channel for free. I would look at with the 9060 you can get two 9060 and a center channel for (about $1760) the price of one 9080.

Speakers are where the sound quality lies for the most part (your room has another great influence, electronics not so much)....and these DT speakers aren't even considered particularly expensive or top of the line.

There is your answer why you may have been impressed, their speakers and room setup.

It would be a gamble in your room and other less performing speakers.
