Bought a subwoofer system with NO power button, controls, or power cable (white van scam)

So I was in the house this afternoon when a trusted friend rushed in and said he met some guys in front of my condo with home theaters for sale at an irresistible price. I went out and checked them out. I dont know much about sound systems so I don't even know why I found them cool, maybe because of the price. The name on the box is Langston acoustics.
They had about 4 sets and I bought one. just like that! This evening when when I took it out of the box, it appeared to be a woofer and 5 surrounders.

Now the problem is that
1. There is no power cable included in the box
2. The is no power 'port' or any place on the woofer to even connect to power source. all it has is six small ports which I presume is for the surrounders and an amplifier. it has "OUTPUT" and "INPUT" written close these six ports. It is just like the traditional one you will put a wire in and screw to tighten, normally found at back of a subwoofer.
3. It has no remote, no screen, no controls
4, No ON-OFF button or any control key or whatsoever , Just a giant black box with six ports at the back and a speaker on the side.
It was not smart on my side at all and I dont even know why I did not check everything before taking it from them.
I dont know how to power it on , or connect anything to it.
They told me it is wireless, but I am having it had to believe now.
just like the woofer, all that the small speakers have is just to connection point at the back for wires. nothing more.

I just the internet and I cant find this brand "Langston Acoustics " anywhere , except their website https://www.langstonacoustic.com/. which has absolutely nothing there.
I need help please.

I am in Tampa, I was just getting something to replace what irma took.
That is terrible, these snakes would swoop in to take advantage anywhere they can.

That Langston Acoustics website is the biggest laugh I have had in awhile. It is about a generic as a speaker manufacturer website can get. I love their 'compatible devices' map. Also the stock picture of the nice house below, which features none of their products. Along with icons for facebook and twitter pages, but not actual links. Also their featureless contact page, just "leave a message." Better yet, their slew of totally generic quality badges in their 'collection' page; how could any audio product bearing these badges be bad:

Transparent scam page for people to look up the products real fast on their phones just to see a massively inflated MSRP to convince them that the $200 street price is a good deal. You have to admire the laziness of this scam, but hey, it works. Minimal effort for maximal return.

Looks like the 4 satellites in the photos are a Bose Knock off.

What a shame. That system is useless and a total loss. No receiver will be able to get the crossover high enough to protect the small satellites, even if he bough an amp to power the subs.

That really is the worst. A total loss before use.

It's 2017! With all the known angles of scammery, it amazes me this still works. From every infomercial ever conceived...to every other "deal" on the planet...It's all bunk. The real problem, is that the rest of us who know better are still subjected to it even with normal purchases. If the masses were as keen as they should be by now, the marketing a-holes would have to clean up their act. But noooooo....we have to get the deal for the win and then brag about how we "got over" on the system.

This is precisely why I buy used gear. It's not because I am frugal....it's because I refuse to be part of the statistic that fuels the foolishness we are fed, ad nauseam, and to cut the nuts of as many parasitic middlemen as possible that perpetuates this valueless, service economy we are stuck in from here on out.

I'm a little too pissed to think this is funny. These assholes were taking advantage of folks who just went through hell with Irma. I was approached with this scam about 20 yrs ago and didn't bite. Not because I knew better, but I didn't have 200 bucks on me. I was largely unaware of it until I read some stories here.

I'd love for one of them to approach me now.

Gents,

This isn't marketing, or sales, where you offer for sale stuff that will meet a Customer's expectations. This is a scam where you give false information in order to deceive an unsuspecting, uneducated (on whatever is item being sold), and possibly naive person so they will willingly give you much more than fair market value. By buying out of a Van, or even door to door, there is no recourse or return possible. These folks should be arrested and charged with Fraud.

Just my humble opinion. ;)

I think this is by far the worst "White Van" scam we have had posted here to date, and on multiple levels.

Couple of guys were driving around the Home Depo parking lot trying this crap where I live. They pulled up to me "we got wireless home theater for sale" I simply responded "I don't like wireless" and they drove off looking for someone else. I should have reported them. Didn't think about it since I was in a hurry...:(
