Spkr...Jim states he prefers 12 awg, but you should be fine with 14 awg...spades or bananas will be fine.

RCA/Sub...look for double shielded with a rubber outer casing. The connectors on the BJ RCA cables are top shelf. THE BJ LC1 cable is really stiff, if you have some sharp bends they could be problematic, but his next level down is more flexible. Monoprice will be a little less money.

Dennis has these with RAAL ribbon and I think I'm going to go with them as my surrounds. He calls them his mini monitors. Well the pic is too large.

I was looking at the Denon X4300H and X6300H and they look pretty solid.

Well, now you have a little more incentive, huh....lol.

As you were mentioning initially the 7010 seemed like a great opportunity buy for you. I'm not sure what steered you to the 7011. That said, of course Denon and Marantz are owned by the same company...if the 4300 or 6300 offer comparable features than the 7010...and they are less money, sounds like a no brainer.

Yea I saw they are owned by the same company so I figured I would toss them into the fray. I need options since I have to move quick lol. I don't like moving quick usually because it costs more but at least the Salks worked out nicely moving quick.

Ha! You don't have to move quick. You want to! That's not a dig or anything. I'm prone to it too. :p

That being said those models of receivers you're looking at are top notch. I'll throw in that I have the SR6011 and I'm really happy with it. Has all the good features and some decent power. When I got mine they were doing a promo and included a 3 year warranty. The promo is over, but 899 is still a really good price.

LMAO! Yup that's why I put the lol behind moving fast. Yea The 6300 is 11.2 with HEOS and all the goodies plus 140w@8ohm per channel so not too shabby. Even though the 4300 is only 125w@8 and 9.2 it still has all the goodies also and is probably the better deal price wise.

Moving quick...I'm afraid to even tell you...some guy just took delivery of a pair of Song3s with Supercharge CC and looking to unload them. He wants to use the money to complete his McIntosh gear or something....I'm not going to cancel my order now, but it's a great deal for his package....besides, he's Cali and looking for a local buyer.

I moved quick on my AV7702mkii, no regrets, and the Outlaw mono blocks was an impulse buy practically. Sometimes quick works out.

AVR...it matters of course, but of the options you're looking at you're going to get a nice piece of equipment regardless of which one you pick.

We are cut from the same cloth it seems lol. Louisiana is a long way from Cali but what's he asking for his Salks? I'm going to upgrade later to the SoundScape 8 or Veracity HT2-TL more than likely the latter.

Receiver: $1,300 Range
Floor speakers: $1,200 for the pair
Center Channel: $650 range
Surround: $800 range
Subwoofer: $1,000 range
TOTAL: $4,950
So you're still in the $5K Budget total for AVR, 5 speakers, 1 subwoofer ?

Not bad. I'd get the Denon 4200 for 1k and get some wires on Amazon. You can get Kimber Kable bare wires in bulk for like $4/ft if you like fancy. :D

I'm not down with any wire that fancy lol. I've got a deal on a X4300H for 1200 roughly so I think I'm going with it. Should be plenty for what I need for quite a while and I hear they are solid performers.
