What's your favorite purple prose?

My only similar analog (see what I did there, analog?) was at an Aerosmith concert and watching Joe Perry play. He was doing some shredding, standing in front of his amp. The amp began to smoke and eventually fire came roaring out of the amp and speaker. It was all staged pyrotechnics, but it was awesome and probably half the crowd on pharmacuticals went home thinking it was real.

The bass player was in MKE to do a clinic with a friend of mine and then, they had the gig. Since he flew in, he wasn't going to bring his whole rig, so the store loaned him some equipment. He likes it loud on stage and I think the amp was just sucking air. The bass player spent most of the last 25+ years as Leonard Cohen's bass player and musical director, among other things.

I would wager most folks have little or no idea of Leonard Cohen. I myself only know a pencil sketch of his career. What I do know is that he penned one of my all time favorite songs. His recorded version is not my favorite , but there are several others that are absolutely stunning.

Both of these are great recordings just for the recordings sake. Jeff Buckley may have done the best work he ever did on this one song. K.D. Lang is hard to look at, but she kills it too on her version in this live performance. RIP Leonard Cohen.

I would wager most folks have little or no idea of Leonard Cohen. I myself only know a pencil sketch of his career. What I do know is that he penned one of my all time favorite songs. His recorded version is not my favorite , but there are several others that are absolutely stunning.

Roscoe also produced and played on the Jennifer Warnes 'Famous Blue Raincoat album, which was a collection of Cohen songs and included some early Stevie Ray Vaughn.
