Quality of the TV itself aside as others have pointed out that it's probably not worth pursuing a costly calibration, as a general rule of thumb I always do my own calibrations. I have a few older calibration discs that I still use. My thinking is that this thing is an investment, in many cases the centerpiece of your living room and where you'll likely end up focusing your eyes quite often. You want to get to "know" your equipment and the only real way to do that is by tinkering with it yourself. Even though your TV may not be quite top of the line, kudos for at least thinking in terms of calibrating it. Many average consumers just take one home, jack up the settings and forget about it.
