Trigger an amp (sub) wirelessly

Hi all,

I'm new here as a registered user but have used these forums for years to learn - so thank you.

Does anyone know of a way to send wirelessly a trigger out signal from a preamp to the trigger in on an amp. In this case the amp is in an Axiom Audio EP350 sub (which is not auto-sensing). I could leave the sub on all the time, but I'm shy to do that (just replaced the sub amp - though it was 15 years old) or I could just turn it on and off manually - but, come on, did we lose a war or something?

I've searched all over and can't seem to find a device that will do that. Any ideas?

Best regards,
wearle

How do you mean not auto-sensing? It should work by connecting preamp 12V trigger Out to the sub 12V trigger In. Anytime the preamp is powered on/off it will do the same to the sub.

Correct. All of the AV equipment is in a rack in a closet. When I planned the in-wall wiring I did not consider running a 3.5mm along with the coax from the sub location to the homerun so it is not possible to make that connection unless it's done wirelessly.

Some sub amps will power on automatically when sensing a signal at the low level input from the pre-amp sub out. The amp in my sub will only auto power on via the trigger in.

Ahh I see, there's wireless LED transmitter/receiver sensors you could connect to the sub and remote control it I forgot what it's called people use them on media centers.

My pleasure to lend a hand... or link.

I think you will need a power supply with that, but you likely can get to the manual through their website, or possibly even calling or emailing them. I can't believe that it is a discontinued product, but I guess it's a demand type of thing. Good luck with it.
