Dual PB-1000 or Dual SB-2000

I listen to 60% movies/ 40% music (heavy metal and rock).
My room is about 2800 ft. Plus a hallway.
I have an entry level, soon to be 5.2 setup
Klipsch r-28f fronts with a denon x2200

I heard and loved the pb-1000 at a friends house, however i can probably swing the SB-2000 though. I am unsure if the sealed 2000 will sound as good as the ported 1000s for movies. I can't decide!

Any input would be appreciated. I know there are other brands that may be better, i just like the svs bill of rights with my limited budget.

Thanks everyone. Chuck

The SB2000 should be better with music, and the PB1000 should be a bit better with deep bass movie content. Between them I would go for the SB2000 because it has a better amp and driver, but if you want the best of both worlds, look at the PB2000 or PC2000.

Your room is at that size it might be a toss up. You will still benefit from room gain on the sealed subs so output towards the tuning of the 1000s might be close. Maybe consider one vtf15 from HSU to start.

I really want the pc-2000s but the wife acceptance factor comes into play. Im leaning toward the sealed 2000s at the moment. Thank you guys.

Im trying to stay in the 1k-1500 range, preferrably a dual sub setup. I am open to suggestions. Size does matter even if the wore says it doesnt haha

Look at the HSU vtf3s that will certainly get you an upgrade.

If enclosure size doens't matter I suggest getting a JTR sub.

You might also check the classifieds here on the site. You never know what you'll find, and you could save a crapload of $ buying second hand.
