Personally, I avoid Acer like the plague.
But, I have not yet been disappointed by Asus.
I do tend to agree with your other comments though.

Fair enough. Though I have had very positive experience with Acer corporate desktops from few years ago. They were head and shoulders above their comps from HP/Dell. Not in terms of support - it was barely adequate, but in terms of initial build features/quality.

Good set of garage speakers or a step up computer speaker. Included iso pads are a nice touch.
