I know its new but I thought maybe there was someone here who had some thought as to its value as a good receiver. I have to replace the one I have used for the past 3 years, a Pioneer VSX-43, our house had such a close lightning strike two weeks ago that all phones and tv with everything that was connected to it knocked out. Have replaced the tv with a Sony Bravia 60" smart tv (not a 4k model). And I have Pioneer SP-BS22 LR fronts and a matching center plus Sony bookshelf speakers for surround l/r. Oh and one sub, making up my 5.1 setup.
I had zero problems with that VSX-43 so am looking for something as easy to setup as it was with an addition of wireless wifi, which the specs say the VSX101 has. I am just a little worried when I see that Pioneer has merged with Onkyo since I last bought my VSX43. Does anyone have any thoughts as to whether this "sounds" like a good choice for me with the speakers that I have? I am not very technical, am 70, but I did get the vsx43 all connected and setup easily. Thank you for any help you might be.
