Hey guys!

I am struggling to find a really good subwoofer under 250 dollars that I can buy in europe it self, shipping cost are ridiculously high when importing from the US. Sadly thats where all the good speakers/subwoofers are coming from that I want to buy (I had my eye on a Bic america f12). After a lot of searching I did found one that I likes, namely the Wharfedale SW150. All the reviews I found were from 2006.. so I was wondering if these sub is still worth it in these times. I was also wondering if the monoprice 9723 is any good, read both good and very bad things about it so not sure what to think. And lastly, would I be able to connect a active subwoofer to a regular amp (with speaker/clips connection) by using a rca to speaker cable converter?
If you have any other suggestions related to the questions I asked Id love to hear them!

Thanks!

It depends where in Europe are you. One of best value/performance options in Europe sub vendors are BKElec in UK and XTZ from Sweden.
but out of your choices I'd go with Wharfedale , but keep in mind that it's limitations : It's best suited for music only in small rooms

Thanks, looking into it! I do have a small room, and am planning on buying 2 subwoofers over time. What do you think about my connection problem?

Also, the gemini, is it a low firing sub? And what does imply? (better or worse when installing near me on my desk in the corner)

Gemini comes with High Level Lead to connect with your amplifier.

Yes, Gemini is down firing. Down firing generally makes placement easier than front firing. Sound wise there is no difference.

Would you have any idea if there is any retailer who sells bic f12 in europe?

None I'm aware of. And if there were the price would be 300-400€ due to importing and stuff. And at that price range BK outperform it by far.

They look really nice, but for my first sub I was going for a 200-250 euro range, and bk start a little bit higher than that.. Specificly im choosing between the Klipsch R12SW and Gemini 2.

You can get Klipsch R12SW for 250€? If so then I don't know which one would be better. What I know is that BK builds some high quality subs for low price point.
