I see that Dalmatian Baywatch setting and all I can think is pi*ke ko salate. That is The Adriatic, no?
Yes, Adriatic. And yes, crowd from all around the world.
I was being facetious- getting to eat that kind of food can't be a bad thing.
Yes, I got that. That's why I said I was trying to make you jealous.
You with dream equipment and me at least with some pretty beaches and local cuisine.
I'm glad you liked the food in Serbian restaurant. Both burek and ćevapčići belong to most Balkan cultures. They originate from Turkey and came to Balkans with the Ottoman empire, so I hope no pork was mixed in ćevapčići your friends ate 'cause then it was just bad ćevapčići.
All those recipes are common in Croatia as well. Every pastry shop and bakery has burek and you have loads of ćevabdžinica (a place specialized in ćevapčići) all over the country. It's the same with sarma, gibanica, japrak, dolma, stuffed this and stuffed that (people here like to stuff stuff
) stuffed onions, peppers, zucchini, potatoes, calamari you name it we stuff it.
