Even with the fan mod in the EP4000 it's still a loud fan IMO.

Check this out. Looks pretty nice. http://jtrspeakers.com/home-audio/captivator-4000ulf/

How does this hook up to my denon avr e400 receiver? Pretty sure (my receiver) just has one rca like type sub pre amp output. Would I need a splitter to hook this sub up to my receiver? Im still saving and this thing looks like it could be awesome.

It has an rca input so not sure why you'd think you need a splitter....because it has two drivers? Looks like a monster sub!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Sorry for the dumb questions. I got one more. Can I bridge two rear channels together? I have two rear channels not being used. And I know my Two front speakers could use a little more. Probably mess my auddysey up?

You can't bridge the amp channels on your receiver (nor most receivers); for more power you need a receiver with pre-outs so you can run external amps (pretty sure the E400 lacks such). You are running into issues with distortion or clipping now?

Since we're on the topic of JTR, I have a JTR S1, and a 15" velo DD. Room is 14x19x8, closed. I use the room only for HT, no music. I watch mostly action/adventure/scifi/horror/fantasy. Would replacing the velo with JTR 1400 ported add any further visceral impact with the JTR S1?

Don't mix sealed and ported subs. If you want something to compliment your S1, get another S2, or possibly an S2. Ported subs reverse phase below tuning, and you will mess up all the low end from your sealed sub if you add a ported.
