Yamaha RX-V779

Hi All -

I purchased the V779 today and set it up identically to my previous V465.

I have 4 HDMI inputs (TIVO, DVD, Xbox, Apple TV) an HDMI out to an Elite TV, and audio out to 5.1 surround sound

The unit turns on fine, but i have absolutely no response on the TV or any Audio. I can't see the on screen menu or anything


I can hear sound if I use the FM Tuner input. Nothing from any HDMI input, and no HDMI to my TV. Is there a way to test that the HDMI is even operable?

Is there something else that I am missing here? ..

Work on one source component at a time. Does Apple TV have HDMI out? Have you configured it to use HDMI out? If so, what are the input settings for the AVR for the Apple TV?

Thanks, thats what I was trying.

Called Yamaha and they are swapping it out. They think its bad internals

Unusual for Yamaha to have a bad unit like this. I'm glad they are responding so quickly. One gets top notch customer service from Yamaha .

Already got the new one in and works like a charm!

Odd, I agree. Love their service though.
