Recently, my Integra 7.9 bit the dust. I guess it's a problem with the HDMI board. I've tried to find replacement parts and Onkyo has been ZERO help as they only sell to authorized repair agents. The few price quotes to fix it have been outrageous. $600-$750

My issue is that, now, I'm a very tight budget. I've found an excellent deal and have been looking to replace the unit with a Denon AVR-X4000, but not sure if I will actually get something worse than what I had. Denon doesn't rate THX and I'm unsure if I will lose any quality in my sound.

I'd appreciate any input regarding this.

Thanks!

Pretty much anything will be an upgrade from Onkyblow.

The receiver you picked has a good reputation.

Remember, THX is a minimum standard and, like a Nike or Reebok label, you pay good money to have that badge on your kit. A lot of the good manufacturers save the $$ on that and put it in performance. IOW, many non-TXX rated receivers can outperform THX rated receivers where the rubber meets the road.
