Upgrading my blu-ray player

I currently have Samsung BD-F7500 blu-ray player and I have been thinking on getting Marantz UD5007 or UD7007 to match with my Marantz receiver.

Is UD7007 worth to get over UD5007? Why and why not? Or is there any reason not to get either of those players?

Thanks.

What do you hope to gain from this "upgrade" aside from style? Are there needed features your current unit lacks?

I can hear my current player and I would like to get rid of that. Not really missing anything with current player I guess? Better sound possibly? As the player will be used for blu-ray/dvd movies and music cd's. Don't really know what should I even look on in these players. Is there some features I would benefit from?

From the review of the UD7007:
Marantz UD7007 Universal Blu-ray Player Review | Audioholics
But wait, the UD5007 is $599, and the UD7007 we’re looking at today is double that, at $1,199. Where’s the extra $600 going? For starters, the UD7007 gains an upgraded disc loading mechanism for even smoother/quieter operation. The extra coin also nets you dual HDMI outputs, stereo balanced analog outputs, an upgraded DAC, improved analog circuitry with multi-layer construction, and a RS232 input for custom installers. Now for a lot of people, all of the above may not amount to a $600 difference. If you simply want to run a single HDMI cable from a player to your A/V receiver or pre/pro, save the cash and go with the cheaper UD5007. On the other hand, if you’d like a player that can offer top notch analog two-channel performance in addition to playing movies…keep reading.

I see.. What do you guys thing, is that analog stereo output worth the price difference? Would I hear the difference? Never compared such thing myself..
Would you hear the difference? Not something I can answer for you. However, I'll leave you with one thought: unless you do your 2 channel listening in pure direct mode, the first thing your AVR is going to do is.......convert that pristine analog signal back to digital to perform bass management, room correction, etc.

So I guess I'm better off going with UD5007 and save the price difference towards other upgrades.

First expression on UD5007 is that I ******* love it! Amazing player so far.. Need to do some direct comparison to my old player tomorrow when I have more time to use.

Okay. Took some time to compare these two players together, my old Samsung BD-F7500 and new Marantz UD5007. First things that get me is that UD5007 weights bit over twice as much and looks much better and feels strong. The finish in UD5007 is really nice like it is in Marantz receivers while BD-F7500 feels more cheap with all that plastic used. BD-F7500 has smaller and simplier remote than UD5007 but if you have Marantz receiver you can power it up and change source/volume with the UD5007 remote (might work with other receivers as well, dont know about this) and for me with Marantz receiver this is a nice thing to have! Screen in BD-F7500 gives minimalist info and sometimes I felt like I was missing a lot there while UD5007 gives all the information you will ever need (at least in my opinion). Silence that comes with UD5007 is luxury compared to BD-F7500. With UD5007 I can only hear the player when I open or close the disc tray but with BD-F7500 I can hear it when it reads a disc and while it opens or closes the disc tray. The openin/closing voice in BD-F7500 is also much louder than in UD5007 and with some discs BD-F7500 gets really loud! For picture and sound quality I have to say that BD-F7500 is pretty nice player but when comparing to UD5007 it is falling behind. With UD5007 I'm getting clearer colors in picture while watching blu-ray movie. As for sound UD5007 delivers more detail with clarity. I think BD-F7500 tries to boost bass little and makes bass in movies sound bit boomy while UD5007 keeps it clear. UD5007 delivers clear sound with both movies and music. I dont say BD-F7500 doesnt deliver good picture and sound, it does, but UD5007 does it just better!

I'm not some one who write reviews or direct comparisons but as I wanted to compare these players I have (going to sell BD-F7500 when I find a buyer) I thought why not to share my results.

edit: I also want to add that UD5007 remembers where you stopped playing even if you take power cord off. BD-F7500 did not have this feature.
