There have been several iterations of The Joker over the last 70 years. In one of them it was the guy who shot Bruce Waynes parents but we're all shooing blanks here
The original iteration was the person who shot Bruce's parents, but that by no means makes it him in this series

I never read the comics. You can tell. :)

Wow. I never knew the Joker shot Batman's parents. No wonder the Joker is Batman's ultimate nemesis. :D

"In one of them" is what you stated, I just added it was the original story before the different variations.
No, you're thinking the 1989 movie with Jack Nicholson was the original one. It wasn't, but it did make for an interesting movie.

Here's a few alternate origin stories from the comics, some of which predate that one.

You are correct Joe Chill is the first name that get's mentioned as the killer of Batman's Parents.

My DC knowledge beyond Nightwing/Robin is limited, I relied on my buddy who is a big DC fan, which I was apparently wrong on

Not a problem. I grew up in the 50's when the comics were 10 cents and Robin still wore those short shorts, which struck me as a bit disquieting even as a child.

Yes, disturbing costumes, even Teen Tians #44 First **** Grayson Nightwing, his costume was a little too flamboyant for a superhero lol

Please note that the **** is his name: Richard Grayson to avoid filter :)

I guess I'm the weird one here but a show about the Batman universe without Batman has no appeal to me.

Now the new Flash show coming up, I'll check that one out.

I wa skeptical about this too, particularly after that "Smallville" debacle, but this looks like it could be a winnah. They have a treasure trove of back story to work with, what with the corrupt city government and the crime syndicates, and how they interact. And, last weeks episode was killer (no pun intended), particularly The Penguin.

But, I'm still an "Arrow" fan and looking forward to "The Flash" as well.

That only happened in the 1989 Michael Keaton Batman movie. AS far as I know, the Joker was never connected to the Wayne murders in any other Batman stories.

This show isn't half bad TBH. But IMO Fish Mooney is it's weakest link. Poor acting on her part and I hope she gets killed off sooner than later.

Question to all Batman fans: Is Gordon's partner Harvery Bullock a future Harvey Dent that becomes Two-Face? Or is he a different character all together?

Fish Mooney is a contrivance created for this series and doesn't exist elsewhere in the DC universe. I think she exists only for exposition here.

And, Harvey Bullock is Harvey Bullock, a selazy detective and a totally separate entity from Harvey Dent, a very upright Gotham prosecutor who later ran into some trouble, became disfigured, insane and become Two-Face. Both Harveys are well documented in the DCU.

Yeah, I don't care for the Fish character either.

But the show is pretty good. My wife actually hates all the DC stuff like Batman, Superman, Arrow, Flash, etc. Yet, she is totally hooked on Gotham. :D

That was a cool scene, showing how the dark knight was sculpted... All I could think when he was hitting the other kid was
"BANG"
"BOOM"
"KAPOW"
lol

OK, zombie thread revival but I figure what I have to say is more appropriate here then starting a new thread.

Yeah, we're into season three and some changes have come about and the baddies are starting to emerge but...

Their casting of Paul Reubens as The Penguins father was a stroke of genius.
