I have never spoken to a rep at Magnolia. We always kind of look at each other and both think they no more about AV then whom they are looking at. Then I just say "get a manager over here- now".

I get my discount and move on.

Good for SVS but it kind of creeps me out knowing that BB people get to touch SVS subs....

I have never really had a bad experience at BB Magnolia , I mean some guys do come off as shi+dips on occasion , talking more but knowing less and so on but I have met some guys that were pretty spot on in regards to various information about products. I actually bought a few open box items , Pioneer Elite and so on and could not be more pleased with the quality / service provided. I think SVS will be a welcomed addition to Magnolia and look forward to rumbling the store walls with my next visit :D

Imo...this was only a matter of time and logistics. This will bring more people closer & make things easier for them to get real sub for their home theaters...I would not be surprised if others follow suit....since many of the big boys sell online or direct to the public now.

I know some issues had arisen regarding free shipping offers not available for Canadians consumers by our Svs distributor...maybe one day when they move into Future Shop or BB up here it make things easier for us as well.

It will give them a much larger distribution network...it certainly won't hurt Svs bottom line...;)

Because in my experience BB's sales people are often under-trained, pushy or both. But it's my own experience, as I said. Another thing I feel when I visit BestBuy is that they value their customers much less than smaller stores. I just don't like the general vibe in there.

Dealing with SVS, on the other hand, is always a pleasure.
Since the SVS options are only being offered in MDC locations (not BBY locations, not MHT locations), you won't have to interact with undertrained and underpaid college kids working for beer money.

The staff in those 50 ish stores are professionals.

Ah, implied junk measuring in an AV shop! Will it ever end?!?

You know, when I bought my Pio elite, I was asking the Magnolia guy about the HK receivers as I hadn't had much experience with those.

He told me "it's really a nit-pick but I just don't like the volume knobs on those units, it feels cheap and janky". Well, as luck would have it, I was in there shopping that day due to my old unit's volume knob had failed. That was exactly the info I needed to steer me clear of the HK.

Back on the SVS topic, perhaps they will allow for orders online to be picked up in-store. That could be an advantage for some.

I was at my local BB/Magnolia yesterday. The were setting up the SVS line of subs at first opening.
