How could I resist? After seeing only a half hour of the first one, I had to watch the whole darn thing this time. The sharks have moved east. Leaving behind ruins in LA, it's NYC's turn to get a tornado full of sharks. Only this time it's not JUST a tornado. It's a hurricane, snowstorm and nor'easter carrying wind and sharks, moving up the coast right toward the Big Apple.

The movie was shot during winter and there was snow in the city, so they had to re-write the script and the principles of meteorology to have FROZEN tornadoes full of sharks. Action starts right away when an airline pilot gets eaten by a shark in flight and it only goes downhill from there. Bad writing, cheesy FX, sharks everywhere, even in the subway, water rising in buildings when there's none in the streets, sharks on fire, being chased in a car by the head of the Statue of Liberty, characters falling from the skies, snow and cold, wisecracking cabbies, big tanks full of freon 30 years after it was banned, 6 foot long chainsaws,a propane slingshot and stalwart New Yorkers....what more could you ask of a movie? It just doesn't get any better than this!

I only caught the first fifteen minutes or so and picked up on the tip-o-the-hats to both the movie "Airplane" and the Twilight Zone with William Shatner on the airplane. Can't wait to see the rest of the movie. I recorded it for this weekend.

That was about the most crazy movie I've seen on TV this year. It's like one person wrote, Chessy , and I will add silly, it's terrible but it works, it's not clever, B stars gather, you know the outcome, ps' lots of decapitation, blood and screams and yes poor acting. Enjoy with friends and beer or beer and friends or just lots of beer. :D

The first one was retarded, but still funny. I will watch this one too.

Watching THEM!? That one is pretty good, and featured a pre-Gunsmoke James Arness, facing down giant ants instead of bad guys in Dodge City.

I meant, I'll be watching Sharknado 2. I've seen THEM a number of times :)

Them is one of the best movies of its type. In fact, of all the giant monster movies from 1950's Hollywood, I think Them is likely the best. To be fair, not many of them are actually good movies, but Them is.

In that vein, one cheapie I like is The Killer Shrews. Really low budget drive-in film, but actually has some terrific scenes. Check it out if you have an hour to kill:

You'll want to be sure to count your brain cells before and after...might be some on the floor when you're done with that marathon. Too bad they don't have Sharknado 3 yet.

Sharks are awesome.

Wonder if sharks could go to space in Sharknado 3. That could be cool. Space station under attack by sharks in orbit.

Where do you put the space helmets on a shark? On their gills?:confused:
