A pair of NHT 2.9s. The auction is still going on, but this morning it was at ~$240, and now it's up to $571 with about five hours left. I expected it to jump near the end, but I've got some thinking to do. I've lusted after a pair ever since I heard them at the shop when I bought my 1.5s, but that was over 16 years ago. I'm starting to think about all of the other stuff that I could buy for $800 (probably my upper limit) - and there's some nice stuff in that price range that I'd probably like more...such as a new monitor for my computers.

22" is a nice size. I have a 24", but colors shift off-axis. I'd like at least a 27", and I'd like to get a 4k monitor...but I'd have to make sure my Mini could run that resolution (it might be able to if the monitor allows two inputs, each for one half of the screen...maybe).

I hear ya - that would be pretty nice.

I put in a bid on those 2.9s, and someone clearly has a higher max bid because it was instantly outbid. I'm almost tempted to see how high up I can drive the price. Of course, the risk is that I win...but I want them anyway.

I'm "winning" two other auctions, but the reserve price isn't met on either one. Does anyone know if it will automatically change to the reserve price if I bid high enough? Neither auction is at my max bid because no one has outbid me.

I'm psyched about the monitor with the hdmi switch. I'm going to bring my spare br player from Eddie's. Frankly I'm a little surprised that the demise of xp has freed me like this. I thought about getting an auxiliary key board but the laptop one is sufficient. It's all about the space. Half the time I ... don't need to type.

Ha! If I was rich, I probably wouldn't be trying to buy NHT 2.9s.

If I get those and put them in my main system, I'm going to have to move my subs somewhere else because they'll no longer fit. That's kind of a pain. And, no, I wasn't thinking about moving them to your place.

I removed the smaller MA500U amps from the system and just have what I need to run the subs. I got rid of the DEQ2496 because I don't know how to use it. I sort of gave up. I'm thinking about yanking the subs in the LR and just running the Salk's full range but that would remove my ability to turn off under 80Hz in the late evening. You can keep your subs you meanie.

I'll box it up. I paid $150 for it but that trip isn't in my near future. I have a double box set up for it so it can be shipped. I have cables somewhere but there's 4 xlr to rca adapters on it fo sho. I'm back to work Monday and free time is drawing to a close.

10 bucks ... I'll give ya 10 bucks ...

I could even throw in a mic (Behringer ecm 800 or something) ... 10 bucks.
