I don't post to this forum nearly as much as I should but thought I would share my opinion on SVS subs. Back in October I decided to do a few upgrades to my theater room, with the better half's permission. I have a dedicated room for home theater and I have been using a complete Jamo C80 system for mains, center, surround, and sub. Since owning this setup I never really thought that I was getting everything from the speakers that they were capable of producing. Don't get me wrong, the C80 Jamo speakers sounded great with the AVR for power but I have since learned that with a decent amplifier they sound fantastic. So, I purchased an Emotiva XPA-2 and XPA-3 to power my mains, center, and surrounds as well as a Marantz AV7701 preamplifier to drive it. Needless to say I found the Jamo C80 sub pretty much unable to keep up with the increased power of my system so I started shopping subs. I ended up purchasing the SVS PC13 Ultra. I liked the idea of a small foot print since I wanted to locate the sub in the front right corner of my room and the PB13 Ultra would have taken up too much space for my liking. I admit I was hesitant to try the tube sub because I have always had box type subs in my systems, but that is all in the past. Three months later and I am still amazed by just how powerful this sub really is! Now just that, but the fact that the beast will produce low frequencies that are tight and controlled no matter how hard I push it! Combine that with their customer service and warranty policy, it is pretty much a no brainer. In my opinion this has been one of the best purchases that I have ever made!
