At that price, there is no way I would be getting an integrated anything. Get some separates.

I would spend instead 1/20th of this price for pro amp and 19/20 on speakers

It's still a very beautiful and very well made product. If I had extra cash doing nothing, I would certainly buy it.

I checked with the gf. Ain't gettin' this for christmas.
Classic example of cause and effect. Why would you ask her about that?

Last time I asked my g/f for anything I started talking real slow and a little bit loud.
I said, "The kitchen is over there. Can you make me a sandwich?"

for an $8000 integrated I would rather have the ma7000, hmmm now that is sexy ;) but for that price just think about what you could get from emo, lol 2 XPR1's an dxsp1, and an xda 2, OOPS THAT IS ONLY $4000, lol you would have 2000 watts a real pre a dac and $4000 left over...

No offense (probably too late anyway, so apologies), but I don't see Yamaha = EMO.

The only amp I want to own if one ever comes back on the market used is the Yamaha MX10000, a class A up to 1,2kW output @ 1ohm.

This amp is 50-odd pounds...for 8k? Seems like just a rebadged MX-A5000 with some of the pre-amp of the CX-A5000 and double the price, lol.

And with all that... the Crown is still UGLY.
You're taking this stuff way too seriously.;)
My only point was that the Yamaha was nice looking. Not 8k, not even 2k nice looking, buy pretty just the same.
