Why I never post

So, I have less than 5 posts. It seem that every time I try to do a post, I need to reference a source outside the site via a link (for example, someone asked about dipole speakers, I need to reference the THX site), but I can't because I have less than 5 posts. I've written and discarded about 20 posts over the last month or so because the posts are worthless without the reference material, and I'm certainly not going to copy and paste several pages from another site. So I may never make it to 5 posts, since I'm more likely to just get tired of trying and leave. I'm sure it has something to do with spammers, but it doesn't seem like, if I was determined to spam, that it would be that hard to add stupid little posts to existing threads to hit my five.

I can't change the rules, but you can post five times pretty easily. Heck, three more and you're there.

If you aren't comfortable posting general comments somewhere else, there's a sticky thread under "Site Suggestions & Feedback" entitled, "Post pad thread for new users that are not spammers."

Posts are not like crown jewels. There's no need to hoard them. Just let the posts roll freely off your fingertips with whatever's on your mind. Not every post has to be EE's thesis.

That makes no sense. It sounds like you're 'tired' of trying to reach 5 posts but you've discarded over 20?

on the contrary, we've been able to get rid of spammers before they manage to use up their 5 posts.

the purpose actually is that some spammers - spam porn. while many would like to see those from the getgo - it will be contradictory to this family oriented site
