Why you didn't like em?
Supposedly after eq they sounded quite good
EQ can not increase the resolution - The Micca to me sounds thin, hollow
and nasal on voices - and are thin and vague with instruments and have
a little excess ssszzz. All in all even with the better crossover, the Micca
sounds less rounded and full, and the drivers tend to sound scratchy. The
tweeter is a decent one for the price.

All budget speakers can tend to pick up some of these traits - however with
the Micca, it is a little more noticable and annoying to me.

However, they are still one of the better speakers under $100 - along with
the Sound Appeal, Pioneer and Insignia. And, I understand why some people
may give them the edge over Pioneer. Plus, they are a nice option to work
as surround speakers on a tight budget.

Why does it take them a few days to ship?
post back your impressions.
Okay, There is something more to this little company known as Wave Crest Audio than meets the eye. I have to say Curtis is amazing.
I asked, in a not so polite manner :oops:, why it took 10 days from order to delivery. Curtis explained to me that they do not just pull the speakers off the shelf and ship them. Here is his response;

"We don’t just grab the boxed speaker off of the warehouse rack and ship them. They actually get inspected before we ship…that means we physically look at each speaker, hook them up to a tone generator, and look at a measurement to make sure there are no noticeable anomalies."

WOW!
I want to publicly apologize to Curtis (Cschang) for the tone of my email. He handled it with professionalism and tact.

Thanks Curtis.

Barry...you asked for an explanation, I don't think you need to apologize.

We can't do anything about UPS's shipping time, but we can make sure our processes are good, that we get product out in a timely manner and expectations are set correctly.

Thanks for you input on what info you think should be on the website. Much appreciated.

That is cool and a good thing - however my question is, why not check them
in advance (pre-done), then stack them on the shelf - so they could be ready
when the orders come in.

I am still a little bit confused on that one - it is still a nice company - enjoy
your new system.

That's a fair question.

The speakers are built in China. We receive them in big loads and have to move them into the warehouse.

To unbox, inspect, test, and re-box is not a trivial process.

We can't check them fast enough at that time or else they just sit in the receiving area. So we check them on the back end just before we ship.

I broke down and ordered 2 of the blemished NHT Super zero 2.0's being cleared out for $50 each.
May end up dorm speakers for my daughter.
(That's my rationalization and I'm sticking to it!)

They are decent little speakers, even Consumer Reports was
smart enough to tell, that they sound better than Bose. The
only thing that Pioneer beats them with, is the bass response.

Always wanted to try some JBL phones. These give you a live type concert sound. I do love concerts. :) Got these super DIRT cheap on fleabay. They are 200$ on amazon:

JBL Slate Synchros S500
Product info: http://www.jbl.com/over-ear-headphones/SYNCHRO+500.html
:cool:Measurement are pretty decent ROJO/KEW/Z/JG/FUZZ:

Whoa just got these and out the case they sound AMAZING. Playing Patricia Barber Yellow Car III(Instrumental) and everything is clear and separation is great. It's feels like the band is here. Crap.
Raquel Rodriguez Not My Night has a nice horn and Wah-wah guitar that sounds amazing. Her vocals are clear as a bell and the bass/drum cybals is just right. No BOOM here folks. Grace Weber's Only You Set Me Free acoustic opening is clear as the guitar players pick the acual strum. The Tamborine is clear in the background(never heard that before) Being that these are my first JBL headphones(I had a couple of JBL speakers, but they drowned) I'm amazed. Gotta get the Fiona Apple stuff out I bet I will hear stuff I've never heard For $55(These are $200 and up new) ebay shipped these are a steal. I bet you guys would love them. BoredSysAdmin needs to hear these. Oh and they are comfy.

If the price goes down below $100, then I may think about them.

When JBL is on, they are on - measurements look decent for headphones.

I had a hard time trying to decide which piece of the system to get next. Decided it was time to replace the cheap Panasonic BRP. It won't play some blu-rays and long load times for CD playback is really wearing thin on my nerves.
So, went with the Oppo.

https://www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-bdp-103/

Ended up getting the Darbee Edition. I really was undecided on whether or not to spend the extra Hundee on the Darbee. When I placed my order, Oppo decided for me. I felt like it was kind of a bait and switch. The link says $499 for the standard 103. Once you click "Buy Now" it puts the more expensive Darbee in your cart. I thought well, why not. If the picture is that much more refined, it should look really good on the Panny.

I'll be watching Cosmos with Neil DeGrasse Tyson first I think. :D

The replacement speaker/tweeter for Sound Appeal is due Friday.

The IntelliTouch EOS is due on Mon (for some reason, not as quick),
It is coming from San Diego. It is a smaller speaker, yet it is heavier
than the Sound Appeal.

I may buy the JBL h-phones over some Theater Solutions speakers.:)
