I already have the sony and like them but i am just wondering how much better the polks would be?

I wouldn't go with either of them.

If you want new speakers I suggest:

FS-52 Front x 2

BS-22 Rear x 1

Center x 1 C-22 OR if you have the space Another BS-52

TOTAL

$480 OR $508

I would stick with 5.1.

7.1 doesn't add much. Especially with your budget. If anything take the cash from the extra 2 speakers and put them toward your fronts.

Otherwise the Infinity P363's would be a solid choice for the money.

The Infinity Primus line goes on sale at Frys on a fairly regular basis. They recently had the 363 towers for $117 ea.

They are also on sale at the Harman Audio site for the same price as Amazon with free shipping if you don't have Amazon Prime. Harman Audio - P363BK

I would take them over the Polks. I haven't heard the new Pioneers so i can't judge them.

If you like the Polk sound the older model RTi go on sale at Frys regularly.

The Infinity Primus line has been reviewed on Stereohile, Soundstage NRC, & Audioholics. Probably on HTM too. I own a pair of the P362. I think they are great. Very clear sounding to me.

I've owned Pioneer speakers in my college days. Although not Andrew Jones speakers back then, those Pioneer speakers were still great sounding.

So Infinity & Pioneer get my vote for budget speakers. I heard the EMP speakers are also great. So I would add them as candidates too.

I would want either the Polks or the Sony speakers no matter how steeply they are discounted. Go with Infinity or Pioneers.

+1 to skipping your original choices. I own a pair of the Infinity P163s and I feel they are a solid value. I haven't tried the Andrew Jones Pioneers, but I will probably pick up a pair of those too.

I prefer Pioneer or HTD speakers - I also agree with looking
at Infinity. While I overall do not prefer the Klipsch sub >>
I still would not mate it with Sony or Polk.

I love the idea of tower speakers as 5.1 or 7.1 what about 4 primus 363
2 up front 2 in the rear with the center speaker?

Or would 6 pioneer tower speakers 7.1 set up be better? And the pioneer center speaker

Yeah, the surrounds will be fine. You just want to make sure your front match up so nothing sounds out of place in the main stage.

Now the towers sound really nice. The center speaker doesent seem to keep up very well tho. So i could try turing the volume up on the center speaker or I could return a pair of the sony towers and get the Infinity Primus towers and center for the front mains. What you think? I don't like the highs on Polks, I would go for the Infinity speakers any day and every day over the Polks. There are many people who are satisfied with the Polks though.

Yeah your rite. I read the reviews on amazon and new egg and there's hundreds on Polk and sony. You go to the infinity towers and there's 8 reviews. I got the Sony rite now what I am hoping is that the infinity upgrade for the mains would make an awesome difrence. The center speaker is 279. And the towers are 200 each
My brother thinks I am crazy just thinking about it. But I am wondering what kinda upgrade where looking at
I sent that BIC v1220 back and got the kliptch d12 and boy that is watch shaddering difference. To be honest I live in the country and don't get out much hardly at all. So that's why I came on here cuz I can't test anything.
