I am looking for Floorstanding Left and Rights, Center Channels, Subs, and Bookshelfs. First off lets look at the Floorstanding offerings.

Aperion Verus Grand Tower $1,798 a pair vs Axiom M80 v3 $1,380 a pair

http://axiomaudio.com/m80.html

The Aperion Verus are newer, and cost more, what I am wondering is if they outperform the Axioms or not, It wouldn't surprise me with these floorstanding speakers, but I am interested about what people think about the centers.

Now on to Center channels.

Aperion Verus Grand Center $699 vs Axiom VP180 Center $720

The Aperions are cheaper in this case, and the Axiom is also quite an array. I was interested in the Axiom for how wide a center channel it is, but does it outperform the Aperion Verus Center in pure audio quality?

Now on to Subs

Aperion Bravus IIa 12D Subwoofer $899 vs EP400 v3 Subwoofer $1,120

http://axiomaudio.com/ep400.html

They both get good reviews and cut out the middle man. I'm just trying to get a better idea on how they compare to each other.

Now on to Bookshelfs

Aperion Verus Grand Bookshelf $598 a pair vs Axiom M22 v3 Bookshelf $488 a pair

Based on the reviews and measurements I've seen, the Aperions are much better speakers. No comment on the subwoofers since I'm not interested in either.

I made a mistake, Aperion prices their speakers as singles, where as Axiom prices them as pairs. My mistake, I'll try to update my initial post.

EDIT:

ok I fixed the initial post.

If I had to choose between them, I would definitely go with the Aperions. I would skip the subwoofer from either company, they just aren't as good a value as you can get from dedicated sub makers. For a decent sub, look at Hsu Research, Rythmik, SVS, Epik, Outlaw Audio, or Elemental Designs.

I haven't heard either but you should probably add Salk Song Towers to your list of contenders however they are 4ohm and you'll want at least a middle of the road receiver to drive them.

+1 ShadyJ's advice on subwoofers. Forget Axiom and Aperion subs and start researching the specialist like Hsu Research, Rythmik, SVS, Epik, Outlaw Audio, and Elemental Designs. Make a drawing with dimensions and then contact each and have them size a subwoofer solution to your room. Be sure to include ceiling height and the dimensions of any spaces that are open to your listening room.

Both offer 30 day in home trail and Aperion takes it one step further with their no risk, free in home auditon. Although, Aperion dosen't offer you an assortment of different finish options like Axiom, they come at a premium... nearly doubling the cost of that said speakers. I own some Axioms and I wanted HGB finishes but I refused to pay ~$900.00 for speakers costing ~$450.00:rolleyes:. Aperion were on my short list of ID brands as were some other brands but I decided to go with the Ascend Sierra's and I love em...:)
